Okay, so in the past year my life has been through a whirlwind of craziness, both literal and figurative. Ive smoked, stopped smoking, again >< and all sorts of other stuff but I'm back and though I don't know how active I'll be on here just wanted to say hi to everyone. For V4L, thanks for providing a good product and good service. For the members here, thanks for the advice and support. It's been a rocky road, but I can do this.

@sawlight I was reading some previous posts of yours and I was wondering how the accupuncture is working for you. I've been suffering chronic pain and increasing numbness for years due to a degenerative condition and I'm seeking anything for relief at this point as it's been untreated for nearly 6 years. /OT
It amazes me how some people can have a start date of 09 and then only have a couple hundred posts. I don't know how they have the self control! LOL!
It's rather easy when you have ADHD and can't focus long enough to ever truly contribute.
I can't, I won't, and nor will the person performing it, guaranty anything! BUT!!! After over two years of this, living with an average (I stress AVERAGE) pain level of 5-8, the first session I was at a 3-5! I could live with that, but she'd moved the pain so I could stand and walk like a normal person, but not sleep at all!
Second session I'm at 2-3 average, I have feeling back in my legs. I think I' may have to buy some shoes! My feet are actually getting cold wearing sandals in the 30ish deg weather we are having in the am here! First time in, well, longer than I can remember, I've needed shoes above 20 deg!
I averaged, again, AVERAGED, 3-5 either Tylenol 3's or Lortabs a day. I haven't had ONE pain killer since Saturday morning! My drinking has been cut by more than half!
Even if it just works for a week, a month, a year, I don't care! It's been a MAJOR relief even in this short time to me!
If it works for you or not, what do you have to lose trying? I assure you, it's a lot cheaper than most other treatments!
I don't know how it works, I don't care! My wife hit me up about it and I laughed! "What is she going to do to me after having to go through two spinal injections? Sign me up!" I don't regret it, and even if doesn't work, I doubt you will!
I'm sold, can you tell?

I've been getting increasing numbness in my feet that started with just my big toes and has spread to about half of both feet, and I can't even begin to rate pain on a numbered scale anymore because it's all relative and my pain tolerance is immense at this point. I've had drop me to my knee pains in my lower back recently so that's been a fun experience but my doctors won't give me anything (and I do mean ANYTHING) to manage my pain. After being told that naproxen hadn't helped in years my spine doctor told me to take naproxen. It should be noted that I live in the worst county of the state for perscription drug abuse and that my state (as of my last knowing) was the worst in the country.... Sadly it seems that the only people that can get help with pain are the ones who want pills to sell and get high.

I hear you! I've had many a 4am wake up running to the bathroom throwing up for hours on end, you're up for the day after that! The top of my right leg had been numb for years! Restless leg drove me crazy! Even know when I lie down to sleep it's like hot swords stabbed into my abdomen! Getting up from the toilet was always fun! "Are my legs going to be there, or am I going to face plant into the wall again?" My wife had to come out to the garage twice to pick me up after my legs just went out!
I got to where I dropped things, regularly, I just couldn't feel my hands, they and my arms were numb!
The pain I'm still feeling would probably drop most people to their knees, BUT it's a HUGE relief from where I was!
I'm not making lite of it, I assure you! I know how bad it gets, been there, lived it, and acupuncture has made a HUGE difference in my pain, my attitude, my lifestyle and my mindset! No more nasty mood swings! No more punching holes in the wall! I'm almost happy, in a normal happy, not the bi-polar "lets go buy a new car" way!

Magus, an acupuncturer is worth their weight in gold. Have successfully managed arthritis pain in Darcy for over 2 years using it. As with other holistic treatments, they start with a couple a week, and spread them out over time as you"chi"is restored to proper position. Please consider giving it a try, you won't be sorry.
Magus welcome back... I had a customer yesterday telling me how acupuncture has given her life back to her...I have not had to deal with pain at that level but a non drug related answer is sure worth trying. I would hope your primary care phys would give you a referral if needed for insurance. I hope you can try at least a couple of sessions to see if it helps.

Welcome back, magus. ...........and yes, you can. This place definitely helps. I recently came this close (holding thumb not far from index finger) to having an analog. Coming back here helped. Also, just by sharing the above info you may be helping someone else feel like they are not alone!
