Bad batch of ecopure?

Was really pleased with the Customer Support, kind of a slow start, I think they couldn't believe what we were saying...can't say I'd want to hear it!

Kula, my impression of the Tenn Cured would be to add more tobacco, cut back on the caramel and add vanilla instead. I think that would come pretty close using ECOpure Krystal. I'm going to try to post my recipe tomorrow night. I used to mix those two, Original and Tenn together, the Tenn was a little strong for me for an everyday vape, and the Original a little bland sometimes, especially after I cut back from 24mg to 18 with VG. My experimental right now is kind of in-between both of those. I was really sorry JC chose to change their formulas, but I guess it has to do with using real tobacco flavorings. My guess is they're striving toward FDA approval, and sure can't blame them for that. What a boom that would be for them, can you imagine??
Maybe we should all buy stocks if they go public, yes??!!

FYI: there's now a US supplier of ECOpure - Cignot.com. I just posted another thread because I was so thrilled with their service. I haven't spent enough time with the ECOpure fluid yet, but the bottle I started today was definitely OK.
There is another one, also, sorry can't recall the name offhand, but it's mid-west located. If I find it I'll post it in here.

Well, I hate to raise the possibility, but I have a strong suspicion that the "bad ECOpure" thing isn't over quite yet.
I received my first ever ECOpure from InnoVapor yesterday, following a month-long delay while they awaited a new shipment of zero-nicotine mixes from Intellicig. I received three small bottles of Rich and three of Gold, all zero-nic.
The first thing I noticed upon opening the box was a faint but distinctive chemical odor, not unlike pool chlorine or maybe burning plastic. That should have tipped me off right away, but I thought it must be the packaging, since I knew this was a new batch of ECOpure and that the "bad batch" thing had been resolved.
Since I'd heard good things about Rich, I tried that first, in a fresh cart with a clean atomizer. The smell was much stronger when I started filling the cart, but never having tried ECOpure before, I gave it the benefit of the doubt, and vaped it.
WOW. Seriously unpleasant. Very strong chlorine/plastic/chemical taste. I don't know what Rich is supposed to taste like (I assumed it was supposed to approximate a tobacco flavor, maybe?), but I'm quite certain that this isn't it.
I tried cleaning out the atty as best I could and swapping in a fresh cart loaded with Gold, and it's taken hours to get most of the chemical flavor of the Rich out of the system. I think I'm tasting mostly-unadulterated Gold right now, though I have no reference frame for that. Still doesn't seem even close to a tobacco flavor, but at least it's not actively offensive.
So does this sound like I've got a bad batch? Can someone describe what Rich and Gold are supposed to taste like?

^i don't know about Gold b/c i've never tried it, but Rich, IMO, has a very subtle smokey/sweet/roasted taste to it and the exhaled vapor smells kinda like roasted marshmallow. The Juice itself should smell sweet as well. This is for 20mg and 24mg nic, never tried zero.
Okay, then this is quite clearly bad, because there's a pretty vast gulf between "smokey/sweet/roasted marshmallow" and "overchlorinated swimming pool." Sigh. Time to email InnoVapor AGAIN. (I seem to be cursed with this order: waited a month to get it, then the five atomizers are not the type I wanted, and now the ECOpure's bad. Sheesh.)

To me, the Gold (high) is very similiar to what Fa-Q described as the Rich. Though I might add, it has a bit of carmelly flavor. It's currently one of my favorites. I really have to stretch my tastebuds to detect any tobaccoey flavor, very subtle.
In the UK, what you call 'Gold' is known as 'Mild' and it the 'Mild' version of the 'Rich'.... hence the similarity
Was any reason given last time? I'd like to investigate a bit why this can happen sometimes.

I like mixing ecopure with other liquids, but ecopure alone is too strong, mix some glycerin in it and get mad vapors
I've got news for them, it was the Krystal 36 and also the mixer as well.

i got a bad batch of 0 nic Rich from another vendor. the supplier then opened some of her other samples, and some smelled as you described. I have yet to find out what Intellicig states but you remind me I need to. thanks

I thought ECOpure was almost entirely glycerin? It's certainly thick enough to be, it's like clear maple syrup or something. I'm either going to have to thin it down or change my cart stuffing.
I'm vaping Gold now, it's nearly flavorless to me. This is, however, a step up from the apparently-tainted Rich.
Was that from Cignot? I noticed that they just started carrying zero-nic and had noted them as another source if things don't work out with InnoVapor.
I don't think there ever was a reason given, just that it was found and fixed. I even suggested they put everything on the table, but I guess they decided against that. Not a good choice, my opinion.

I bet they forgot to rinse out the tub after they cleaned it from a previous batch or something. That kind of scares me, as if it is like a brewery, that stuff is labled "Caustic."
Here I go, spreading rumors, when Kate's right, they should have just put it as a recall on their website. That would have been a big plus for the suppliers, IMO.

I agree with you Vapordad, and this is nothing personal against Ecopure or Intellicigs(I've never ordered a single thing from them) or any other eliquid manufacturer for that matter. Until the suppliers start taking responsibility for their product(and their product screw-ups) publicly they are not going to be seen as legitimate by US regulatory agencies(including the FDA). The worst thing a company can do when there is a known issue with a batch of their product is try to ignore it then issue an ambiguous statement. I've said this before in another thread, producing a reliable, consistent, stable nicotine solution for public consumption is not something that can be done in someone's basement in a 55 gallon drum(not that any legitimate eliquid companies do this). All these e-liquid companies should already be shooting for standards approaching US FDA current good manufacturing practices just to add legitimacy to their operation(that includes mandatory recall of product when batch consistency issues crop up). I sincerely think(or hope) the better one's are.
