Well, just read through this thread (okay...mostly. Honestly, this thread needs more pictures ;) ) because my last order of smoktech's weren't great, and the current batch I have are giving me nothing but problems.

Just ordered a box of Boge's to try out.

The first 2 boxes of smoktech's didn't seem to have much if any longevity at all. Day or two before I started getting really harsh hits, with little to no vapor. The last box don't take juice. I'm on my second, and my wife has one from the last box, and none of the three take more than 10-12 drops after the initial fill. Lots of flooding, lots of mess, and lots of wasted juice.

Not sure if has anything to do with anything, but all of the previous boxes I got from CCV were plain white boxes. The last order came in smoktech boxes.

So I'm going to give the Boge's a shot. If they work well, I doubt I'll ever look back. Just give me something that works consistently.

What is hard to determine on this problem is how old the cartos are that we are getting. Some could have been setting on the shelf since January and some could have been received by the vendor yesterday and just mad two weeks ago. I don't know of any way to determine the batch number or age. I really don't think you can judge by the box in that I think they can be ordered by the vendor different ways. I really think this will have to be answered by a vendor in communication with the manufacturer. I have seen keekers response from a vendor that there was a change and I also so a communication from another vendor talking with the manufacturer that there was definately no change.

The boxes I used to buy from CCV never had a manuf. name/label on them either. I just learned recently that they were Smoketech's. Whether Smoketech will say that there was a change made or not - I would say 'the proof is in the pudding!' as the old saying goes! I now use Boges. I've tried the LRs and SRs and like them both. THEN I read someone saying that they have received some bad Boges! Oh my, what's a vaper to do?!

I've been wanting to try the clearomizers but read that they are bad about leaking. Soooo, I'll probably stick with the Boges for now since I'm satisfied with them.

I grabbed a clearomizer at my local vape shop (so nice to live 5 minutes away from a good vape shop) since I had to pick up some juice.

Not impressed. No leaking, so that's good. But it's a really stiff draw, I mean really stiff. Tried wiggling/ pulling the center post, no luck. Overall, they don't even come close to a Smoktech LR carto (when they work well) and hopefully they won't come close to the Boge's.

The guy at the shop recommended the Smoktech Mega DC's, but they were out of stock. Any thoughts?

The original vendor who I got word of this from said Smoktech changed the filler so it would wick better.

The vendor I bought mine from actually states in the product description, "...features an improved filler material (more absorbent)..." This is for the XL Dual Coil LR Cartomizers, however, which I have been using for about a week with no problems.

I have some more arriving today or tomorrow, which I will test out and will re-post if I have any problems.

Ahhh I think I just broke a rule by saying the name of the manufacturer!! 8-o

I don't think you did, although there are a couple of places designed for that on ECF. If there's an ongoing issue with a product, people need to hear an honest opinion. The bad comments sometimes are out of rage and unfounded in fact (and sometimes the good ones, also). Sometimes, people misuse a product or don't understand its capabilities and don't contact the supplier before raging and calling names.

Reviews of Suppliers - Negative

Reviews of Suppliers - Positive

Sometimes, the brands we buy have their origin in the same factory as the rest. Hence the black and white boxes we get with a label stuck on the side (or not).

Thank you :)
I'm familiar with those two forums.

I agree sometimes people post things in the wrong forums but as long as the topic stays on the cartos and not customer service or a specific supplier the thread is ok where it is.

Oh man... I'm sorry to say that the 'other brand' of cartos has this problem too and from the same timeframe. Ordered 5 boxes and three of them have done this (that's three boxes, not three cartos!). There are a couple of threads on it, one in suppliers and one in this area.

To show you what this looks like from the inside, here's a pic of a Smoktech tank carto that was four days old and leaking brown goo (original juice was clear):

E0EH3.jpg

Please be aware that some blackening on the outside of the filler may be caused by the act of cutting the carto open. However, looking into the top of the carto before we cut it showed the brown/black had extended throughout the filler.

I hope I do not get in trouble for posting this picture. It is part of a series of images I have sent to Smoktech so they can look into the problem. The more posts I read about the two main carto brands, the more I am convinced that they are made by the same factory. Both are described as having a chemical taste, both are producing the same brown/black goo and colouring juice in tanks. What are the odds of two separate brands having identical problems at the same time?

Yes, very disgusting. But... you should have seen the chocolate brown coloured ooze that came out of a Boge that I bought about a month ago (again after about four days). Again, clear juice turned yucky brown. Wish I'd gutted that one too and took pics.

Changing brands may be risky alas. I really want Smoktech/Boge to fix this. I like my cartos! :(

Have the pics been removed? I can't seem to get them to open when I click on them. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
ByeBye raises a very interesting point about the manufacture of the cartos. We really don't know, we are working on trust. That can sometimes be a delicate thing on the Pacific Rim. I learned my lesson with circuit boards that were of questionable quality. Ordered 500 from two different vendors (supposedly), but the stamping on the boards was the identical. Made me wonder.
