Okay now come on Zut, you were talking about this a while ago. I cannot for the life of me fathom why you didn't TELL the dermatologist that you thought vaping played a role. She might have had some ideas re: a skin management, face washing thing or some other creative ideas. Also, maybe if you are a big cloud blower, it's time to go MTL, in case it's the vapor impacting your skin by contact.
You won't solve the vaping issue by NOT addressing it with your dermatologist. She might have thoughts about PG/VG and flavors, who knows?
But, as someone who has struggled with adult acne all my life (meds) the solution to my acne problems was NOT to stop my meds, but to develop a system of keeping my skin as "clear" as possible. I will frequently sport a zit or two, but I'm here to tell you NO one cares, besides me. If I were to worry about what people thought of my appearance, at all times, if I had a zit, I'd consider myself a bit freaking shallow.
MANY people have a zit or two, and I'm here to tell you, if interacting with strangers who may have zit, I do not notice THEIRS and they don't notice MINE.
It's unpleasant, dealing with a skin condition, but *I* am not the SUM of the number of zits on my SKIN.
Do what you feel you have to, but you really aren't approaching this with the best way for success, either with your derm, or the public at large.
I find a dude reeking of tobacco far less attractive than a dude reeking of cigarettes. Just saying.
Best of luck, and for the love of god, tell your dermatologist you vape, and HOLD yourself in HIGHER esteem regardless of what happens.
The world isn't as interested (pro or con) in your zits as you are. That's a fact.
Good luck,
Anna
