I have been suffering with breakouts for most of my life, all day, every day. They never seem to fully go away. Hormones and stress are my biggest triggers, so there ya go.
I have seen countless doctors since my pre-teen years and have been given endless (and often expensive, almost detrimental) topical & oral medications (anybody remember Accutane?
) and none of them seemed to work. They always try to give me antibiotics, too, but with my UC, I can't take many of them. A lot of my breakouts are cystic, they are painful, and take forever to go away.
I got tired of irritating/drying my skin out with all kinds of prescription topical lotions, creams, & liquids that they would give me (not to mention the injections I would have to get to get rid of the cysts in my face
) that there had to be something better for me.
As 'doctors' usually go right for medication, I took to the Internet to find other solutions, as none of them seemed to address or even ask me what products I used on my skin
. They're not life changing for me yet, but I'm finding natural oils (yes, oils, and I have very oily skin) and products that are high in lactic acid, AHAs, and/or glycolic acids seem to work for me. My skin is fair, sensitive, & gets clogged pores very easily (no matter what I do) and the acids seem to be doing a decent job of clearing them out, but it's looking like it will take quite some time for my skin to purge it all (it may never happen :::shrug::: ).
I may never, ever fully stop getting acne, but I don't recall my acne getting worse after vaping though. Our bodies go through so many different chemical/hormonal changes over the years that this may simply be your time to do battle with it, sadly. Stress plays a HUGE factor in how my skin behaves, so it may just be as simple as that for you. Not an answer or solution, I'm afraid, but barring an allergy/sensitivity to the ingredients in e-liquid, it may not be vaping, but your body's (perceived) stress of detoxing from tobacco cigarettes (and it's endless list of harmful chemicals) that is the culprit for you. Also, the ingredients in e-liquid tend to be drying to our bodies, so drinking more water is usually necessary to aid in carrying toxins out of your body the normal way. I do hope that you get a handle on this soon, because I *SO* feel your pain.
