I have been scouring the forums and google for something to give me flavour when I vape since everything I had tried muted the taste of my juices. It turns out that all I had to do was make the hole a wee bit bigger in my DCT Tube tank Carto and that did the trick. It also means that I can use my last carto to try vg juice and see how it works.

So simple. So easy. So perfectly perfect.

Looks like my upcoming orders will bring me more of these cartos and something better than a hammer and nail to do the job (probably a saddle valve).

...Oh, and maybe a new tank....and a higher end drip tip....and moar joose!!

@drac: Sold out and $40 is a bit steep compared to an average of $10 that I've seen locally.

@ ambeck22: I saw the slotting technique, but am concerned about shavings and currently, my husband has our dremel kit at work. I also think that I'll have more control with a "punching" method versus slotting.

@slojas: I used a nail that was a wee bit bigger than a finishing nail and it had a nice sharp tip on it, if that helps.

Saddle valves work great, are under $10, and last forrrreeeevvvverrr. Perfect punch each time and you can just turn the knob a little farther if you prefer a larger hole, stop as soon as you hear the pop if you like the hole smaller. My biggest tip is to tighten that sucker down as hard as you can, I have had the puncher slide by the carto a couple times when I didn't have it in tight enough. Any hardware store will stock them, but make sure you look real hard if you don't see if the first time around because the store I went to had it in pieces so I didn't recognize it at first. As well, this store didn't have them labeled as "saddle valves", can't remember what they did have them as, maybe water intake or something. Regardless, we found it! LOL

Slot and punch technique I use,,, I score the carto wall with the dremmel but dont go all the way though, then take a big needle to punch my holes,, you can start with 1 hole or use 2-3 depending on the viscosity/thick/thinness of the juice, it goes something like this and works very well=

I find mine to have a weak output/flavor like a stock 510 on stock voltage.
I punched the existing hole with a finishing nail to widen it but from what you are describing I may need to open it up even more.

Now where are my tools.....:2cool:
it's weird...try reading slojas post without hearing Christopher walken as the voice in your head. Impossible.

The carto goes in a tank. A bit of the carto sticks out at each end and the tanks end caps hold it in place you fill the tank with your fluid and the holes in the carto allow juice to enter the carto and soak the filler. It is like you are filling the carto with every hit, So yes the holes leak but leak in wards to the filler. It gets easier once you see a few setups Good luck

Just tried searching about this, but it's a pain on the phone. You just punch a couple holes in the carto? Doesn't it leak like crazy?

My cartos came with a hole in them already, so all I did was make it a wee bit bigger. I didn't punch any extra holes in it though as I've mostly read that this causes flooding.

I am going to through my :2c: into the ring here, but it is something so bizarre that i thought i would mention it. Seeing as i am a Ego fan, and yes i have some 808's with a 901/510 to 808 adapter allowing me to run 510 carts on a 808 battery (i was bored and thought it added to the wonderful oddness that is me LOL).

Now that muzzle full being said, i am curious as to what battery you run it on?

I ask as i have three sets of batteries: 2- 650mah genuine ego's, 1- 900mah genuine ego (made for the ego-t system) 1- 1100mah pass-through (never worked as a pass through from day one, thanks to that supplier....grrrr). I have the ego-t cart, the smoktech dct cart, atty for dripping and one cart i have no idea what it is called but for what i am about to say i will focus on the dct.

What i have noticed is that i can attach it to the 650's and get mild flavor, and when i add it to the 1100mah there is the muted flavor yet when i add it to the 900mah battery it rocks with the flavor that i have not once did a mod to it, and have in truth never changed the coil itself (i am currently on flavor number 12 inside there).

That being said i have found if i move the ego-t cart LR to the pass through battery the taste of the juice is insane vaping goodness.

I know that taste is subjective, but it is a thought to if you ever get another DCT, and have different mah batteries kicking around to try it out....you may find that without mod's the cart the taste of the juice will not be muted. I have noticed this little trick as well when i had the stardust and mega duo carts as well.....research shows that it should not effect the mute like taste but it does.......vape bunny has noticed a difference in scent of the juices on the different batteries as well....

Again this is just my opinion as i have never modded anything i have, and love to explore different things :D

I have a silver bullet and am currently using the one that came with my kit: UltraFire XSL 18650 2600mAh 3.7v. I do plan on getting the Panasonic version as it was sent as a recommendation to me from a vet through a PM. I'm not interested in stacking batteries, just as a disclaimer as this frequently comes up when talking about this.

I like the idea of punching the hole in cartos because I also want to try out some vg juice and am assuming that the bigger hole will help with a thicker juice.

@Zenatoas: Thanks for that tip. I bet that will help a lot as I did see comments about the carto turning while trying to punch it.
