And this is Why I have such a Problem with Many/Most of the Elected Officials/Policy Makers in the this country.

Because they tend to Only present a Portion of the Factors that go into a Policy Decision.

Say for example that ALL Pods were Banned:

What would be the Public Health Impact to Smokers having One Less Option to Quitting Smoking?
What would be the Impact on Current Pods users?
What would be the Impact regarding Black Markets?
etc...

You would think these would be Pertinent Questions. But you don't seem to seem much of this type of Dialog openly discussed.

Who cares, the people affected are smokers.

From what I'm reading on the news sites, it appears they ultimately want to ban everything except closed pods (juul & Vuse type stuff that isn't designed to be refilled) and disposable cig a likes.
It appears our government has decided a Prohibition is the only way to stop teen usage.
I've only seen one politician mention enforcing the existing under age sale laws and that was the mayor of boston, so that is no help on the national level.

I also saw them talking about taxing what is left alive at the same rate as cigarettes.
Given the manufactures all seem to say a single pod and a single disposable is equivalent to a pack of cigarettes, Juul would be taxed at a rate of four packs of cigarettes for every four pack of pods.
I don't know the math, but it certainly sounds like a huge price increase, double the price maybe?

All this because of the combination of not enforcing the underage sale laws and idiots vaping tainted THC they purchased off the street.

This is the Other Side of the coin when it comes to a e-Cigarette Demonization PR Campaign.

You Know that e-Cigarettes Can't be completely Banned. So you make sure to Thoroughly Etch in the Public's Mind that e-Cigarettes are Harmful. And Don't help people Quit Smoking.

That way when you go to Tax them, they are seen as something that is OK to Milk.

I will say again that I believe they had this all ready and were waiting for the opportunity to slap it down. They well know they are conflating issues. They want cigarette revenue to go back up again and this was the perfect storm to make it happen, they think.

So called "sin taxes" have a place as a deterrent but not as a punishment NOR should they be a legit source of revenue stream for government. That's not supposed to be their point.

And punitive damages, are supposed to go to those that are damaged. Not the attorneys and not the general fund.

And slapping "sin taxes" on things usually hurts the impoverished/middle classes the most. So with caution.

I agree but for one thing. The "New Puritans" have no traditional church; the State is their church and the government is their God - all good things arise out of the government, all punishment is mediated through the government.

I hear that, whatever keeps her vaping is important and looks and feel are important in a device. Those little juul type pods are super stealth, so I can understand...I just wasnt sure if it was that or the actual vape

Oh man have I tried in the past to get her off the Smok Novo but tank/mods are too big, that’s too much vapor with that atty, I don’t want people to stare lol so I just let her be. I guess my wife is what I call a true “vape so I don’t smoke” type vaper and I’m way into vaping as a hobby.

So personally I use a pod system for out and about, I use a squonker when I'm at home. The pod system I use (the OPS-1) is refillable so I get a good bit of use out of it but I'd probably get more if I could figure out how to rebuild it. There are a good number of refillable pods already out there and I've seen a couple that are rebuildable. I think if more companies made rebuildable pods it would be more green and instead of making their money on selling disposable pods they could instead make their money selling the pre-built coils (maybe even pre-wicked?) that go in their pods.
