Thanks Mike for the great info. I know my BP was safe. But it really made me feel good that everything I read in roly's post regarding safe stacked battery mods are exactly what you do with your devices.

And if I understand correctly, you do even more with the short circuit doo-hicky and the PCB melt thingy
(Can you tell I'm not an electro techie? :) )

Seriously though. We all really appreciate that concern for your customers comes FIRST.

Thank you and your team!!!

No problem Pizza ! we have always been concerned about safety , it is our first concern .

Selling products has a liability associated with it , as a business we have to understand that a product can fail or be misused and might cause injury so we design safety features into them. Some companies that make mods in the garage do not concern themselves with this issue.

I do appreciate the Kudos !!!

What I'd like to see on your website, is a shorter iPro mod that takes 1 maybe larger battery that is an AW IMR Lithium Manganese (LiMn) battery with a c rating of at least 4. If that can't be done, I know you could make something smaller with a battery life of 5-6 hours, thats not stacked & safer.

Hey Buzzkill, I am wondering the same thing. Any plans for a single battery mod?

Thanks! Yes, seems to be what is being called "safe chemistry" LiMN 3.7V. Nothing is 100% safe but they seems to be safer. They are not protected (via built in IC) but they are recommended in series / multi-cell applications. Can be charged with any LiIon battery charger with 4.2V output. Probably they have a lower duration than the Powerizers but are to be considered if you want the safest option.

AW IMR 16340 550 mAh should be good, though lower run time. They are Manganese tech (the "M" in IMR is manganese, vs. the "C" in ICR being Cobalt). Manganese has lower energy capacity (mAh/gram) than Cobalt, which is why you see lower mAh ratings for the LiMN batteries. They are rated up in the 8C zone, so even though a lower total mAH than a classic ICR, they are good for high current draw, and their failure mode is supposed to be "softer".

I'm content with the Powerizers, given the Pro series PV-level protections, but the IMR are nice batteries.
