Ive been creating alot of topics lately
Im sorry for that heh,
But im worried about something today i was vaping away just normally like always and batteries was getting low so i said ok time to charge,
i opened up the battery door and i could smell this electronic smell?
Hard to explain its not burnt but it does smell like electronics like hot electronics?
But the battery wasnt hot nor warm
I was vaping at 80watts but its dual box mod and they are 25amp batteries which should handle 150watt max easily..
Like i said battery wasnt even warm...
I put the mod to my nose and the entire battery department smells like that now which it didnt before,
I left it open and the smell went away for both the battery and mod...
What was it?
Is it still safe to use? Everything was working just fine its just the smell i noticed when swapping batteries,
But this has never happened before
Batteries are few months old its Vap ProCell 18650 Li-MN 2650mah i think mooch said these are rewraps of vtcs???
Anyway they are dedicated Vape batteries made for vaping... comes from a vapeshop as well
Not sure what that was about but im a bit worried,
I just charged them up and they are not smelling now super weird.

Sorry for my topics lately ill slow down
dont wanna appear anoyying hehe but i had to ask

Hey, by all means ask away.

The components of the mod are off gassing by the sounds of it, which is kind of the norm with microelectronics. Just the enclosed space will make it seem worse than it actually is.
Oh ok so i can still use them?
Thanks yeah did scare me but i assume since they work and look fine it should be ok, i did some research if it was venting it would smell like rotton eggs? This one just smelled like warm electronics or metal

I don't think this is the cause of your problem, but I do want to bring up your batteries. It is safest to avoid all rewraps and go with mooch-approved batteries, like molicel, LG, or Sony. You don't get these at a vape shop but on dedicated online battery sites like Liion Wholesale or the 18650Battery Store. You might (or might not) know the brand of the rewrapped battery but you don't know the condition of it. Rewraps can be anything at all and not always what they claim to be.

Maybe dial down your wire gauge, hughe ... coils with lot of twists could put a heavy strain on your mod/batteries. The ohms is not the only law, its one perspective of electrical current. The ohms might match some of your stats, should make sure that at given coils your batteries can support the amps needed. Should eyeball all the stats at once while fireing. The amperage and voltage on the batteries is roughly what the battery can supply at fully loaded on the moment of discharge, theres the "working" load amps and volts aswell, what they dont tend to write on. The 25 amps means that at the moment of discharge, after that it will drop, now the quality of batteries affects how much....

Hope it helps, its the way I learned and understand it so far.....so its full of flaws and you ought to read up from a reliable source.

Think I recall you saying you had an XTAR charger. I've used them for a long time. When I first got them they gave off a similar smell to what you described, like overheated electronics. It took several months to go away. I asked about it here and nobody had an answer. Maybe it was something left over from the manufacturing process that took a while to evaporate off. Who knows. Maybe you had something on your hands when you put the batteries in. Probably no need to worry unless it keeps happening or gets worse.
