I just checked and there doesnt appear to be anything. I believe the cause of the tear was me taking the batteries out or putting them in too fast.

At least you know how it happened, which will help in preventing it happening to you again.

Sometimes in some mods the battery-sleds will catch battery wraps ripping them.

I had a dripbox160 that used to tear wraps when inserting batts and had to file the battery tubes, at least its not the case with your cuboid.

A Battery Wrap can also get torn when taking the Battery In/Out of some Battery Chargers.

I find my charger is the culprit of most battery wrap damage. I just ordered some new wraps and will be taking the time to go through all my batteries and rewrapping any that have even a small nick in the wrapper tonight.

I'm kind of crazy with batteries like that though. I also will toss batteries every 18 months regardless of condition or number of charge cycles and start fresh.

I always find wrapping batterys quite
therapeutic, apart from the insulator (I've got those stick-on ones now so should be a little easier).

Yeah... I have a Clay Pigeon thrower that has less Spring K than my XTAR Charger.

Pull! :D:thumbs:

slack3y, you're right about the Cuboid. I have a couple in my doomsday vaping stash but haven't used them yet. I opened one up and looked into the battery compartment. It does have black plastic liners in the battery tubes (like the one in your pic). That does add an additional layer of safety, but you still need to re-wrap asap. It's just a good habit to get into (making sure your batts are in tip top shape). :thumb:

Although the glue on scotch tape isn't a permanent fix I have never had a battery come out of any of my MOD's even after sucking 3 18650 down more than half way chain vaping at 100 watts for an hour over 90°F. (Checked with a Infrared Temperature Sensor) The tape isn't going to come off with normal use and although a TEMPORARY fix it is safe enough.

 Scotch tape is not an effective countermeasure for repairing a torn battery wrap, temporary or otherwise, especially when an even more effective alternative (electrical tape) does not have the efficacy (with a much higher coeffficent of adhesion vs scotch tape)

I looked in mine and jammed my pinky in there to feel about and it got stuck lol.
But indeed, there is a plastic (maybe mylar...some kind of laminate) liner in it.
Don't rely on it though. What if it has a tear on it and you're not aware?

They look like the mylar (or mylar-esque) liners that come with the Noisy Cricket II. I tried to pull one out of my Cuboid, but they're held in by a lip at the bottom of the battery tube, and I didn't feel like prying around in there to see if they'd come loose.
