Battery size for my first mod

I am going to do a mech mod before I try my hand at a DNA30 mod. I have something that I think may be unique, so I don't want to say what until I do it and post pictures.

My question is this... Is there a battery that I can buy that will fit in the same spot that a single AA battery went previously? I want to keep the battery door to be able to remove and charge.

A 14500 will suit your needs, the first two digits are the diameter, the next two the length and the last means a round cell. A protected battery will run about 2mm longer for the pcb board.

I want protected for sure. If it is just a bit longer than a AA I can make room for the extra length. As for a mech mod, all I really need is the fire button, a hard power switch, and a 510 adapter right? It almost seems too simple! Lol

Oh and out of curiosity, how will it compare to my Ego Twist now? About the same or any better?
