Out of interested, my old Riva's from EM were hello branded so I assumed they were simply being made on behalf od them. A little while ago, Em offered me better prices than hello for the Riva, drawing in what is coming from these discussions, I wonder if they have brought manufacturing in house thus being able to offer prices that beat hello and they still make a profit? I think they have been making their own atties for a while so this would just be another step?

Scottbee,

The batteris from my LF Carto Deluxe kit don't have "Riva" etching at all but insulator glows blue and thread does look like on the R2 - missing step without threads.

The LF Carto Deluxe kit I got last week is exactly the same. I'm waiting on two Riva 510-Lite Bundle kits (the Carto Deluxe were out of stock when I made the order :() that should be here tomorrow.

2.41 Wh would, of course, be consistent with 750 mAh x 3.2V nominal delivery (2.4 Wh), with just a bit of margin, the total deliverable energy. That it actually outputs higher V up front is fine, you're just using more energy early on, out of the 2.41Wh total available.

The 2.41Wh is the marking on the battery (cell)..... which is a 3.7V device. If you use 3.7V as the nominal delivered voltage, then it's 651mAH.

No disagreement, of course.
What's your overall take on the newer versions? If you compare one of the new batteries to one of the original Hello, are you at least subjectively getting about the same run time (useable puffs, as it were), or are you getting noticeably shorter use time?

It's not a huge difference.... but I would have to say that I get less effective "run time" out of the 3.7V units... which only makes sense.

The shutoff voltage threshold is down pretty low... around 3.25 volts or so, which I consider to be in the "unvapable land". So I tend to pull the new ones out of rotation and put them back on a charger before I actually get the button blink and MCU shutdown.

Agreed - especially on lower resistance atty's/cartos. Vape tells me voltage is down before I get the blue light blinks 99% of the time, but four batts in rotation makes the day go smooth. I'm guessing the only one I see blink is the R1 version.

Are you using Rivas as your every day vape machine, or just for certain situations?

I have 8 eGo/Tornado/Rivas going - 1 Riva (and it's back up - I have a back up - ie. one charged ready to go for each) prior to getting the SE's - The SE's have some 'thread problems' on some tank attys. Work best with ones from heaven gifts... not so good on the cignot attys... just to note.

ScottBee, have you ever tried charging the KR808 with the 510 adapter on a standard Ego charger? Will it charge up to 3.7v and provide a full charge or do I need to buy a KR808 charger if I decide to switch to KR808 batts?

I have charged KR808D-1 batteries on a standard 510 charger (with an adapter)... no problem at all. I would never suggest charging them on the eGo "fast" (USB) charger though... way too much charging current.

Just got my Riva SE delivered today from Liberty Flights and I am very impressed. This little PV hits like a champ with my LR 510! Good airflow too.

From what I gather from the two posts above, the Riva SE doesn't maintain the same voltage and deliver the same hit throughout the day like an eGo? It actually tapers off like regular battery mods? That's a shame, however the true 3.7v output is great, nonetheless.

I have an 801 battery and a 10440 mod that I made with a flashlight. I've noticed that the 801 battery is performing better than my mod. The 801 battery reads 3.4 unloaded when fully charged and my mod reads 4.18 unloaded when fully charged, but somehown the 801 feels stronger, it also brings my attys to glow red faster when I'm clening them with dry burns.

I thought that my mod should perform better since the power goes straight forward to the atty.

Does anybody knows why this might be? I'm guessing that it has to do with the electronics inside my manual 801 battery

Several posts ago I asked a few questions about this problem. After some tests and the fact that I wasn't getting 3.7v with my flashlight mod I ended up making a 14500 mod which is great by the way. After 3 months of not using my 10440 flashlight mod I received a 10440 battery replacement from my supplier, I got a deffective one in september last year, but I didn't buy anything for that supplier until now, so he included the replacement with my recent order.

So, I decided to try my new battery on my old 10440 flashlight, hooked up with my test rig and... I got 3.7v!!!! So I just wanted to say that there wasn't any problem at all with the switch of my flashlight, the real problem were my old and abused 10440 batteries that I have. I used them with LR atties, so the flashlight wasn't putting 3.7v due to old over drained batteries.

Well, just wanted to get this off my mind and let you know, and thank you, specially for the people that responded to me regarding my doubts, jimho, LowThudd and WillyB Thanks guys.

Can you charge ego batteries on the Riva SE charger, and vice versa? Is there any danger to blowing up these types of batteries?

Yes, you can use the same fast USB Joye or Riva charger for all the eGo/Riva/Tornado class fat batteries. Do not use it for stock 510 batteries as it may damage them.

Blowing up batteries? While charging them? Scottbee? :)

wrong, don't ever use the JSB Vgo charger on other batteries and JSB VGo batteries with one from the others. they use opposite polarity.

not all ego style devices are compatible, if something new hit the market, you better use a multimeter and check it before you play with parts around.

VGO? The question was about Rivas and eGos...
