Looks interesting Debadoo! I'l check the vid out tonight and see if maybe I can do one. I consider myself a novice builder as well, although my coils for the kayfun lite do pretty well by me. Still, I'm always looking for better and I know that there is better vaping to be had and I'd like to experience it!

Soooo proud of me. Ok, so I'm very new to building. I was gifted a mod that I'd wanted for some time. Not sayin what kind, cuz it's very vendor specific. I got an atty for it, marquis clone. Now bear in mind, I've had only 5 successful coil builds to date. (about 3 that didn't work). But......I needed a good build on this atty.....decided to try a twisted build. Twisted 2 strands of 30g kanthal with Danny Brandt's method..... will post video ended up with a single coil twisted 0.9 ohms and it is soooooo wonderful!!! Wow, didn't know vaping could be this good! Easy way to twist wire without a drill

Yeah, tonight's is something like 70 million. I actually think that rather than give out one 70 million dollar prize, they should draw 70 1 million dollar prizes. Just think how much that would help 70 people, rather than just one, if anyone even wins at all.

Kanger Subtank Mini
With all the raves about it, I might like to try it. The one negative I have heard is it goes through juice quick! But isn't that a function of power and vapor production?

I'm a low watt vaper, usually below 9.5 watts. I'm not sure if this is for me. Maybe I'm better off with something not sub-ohm?

Yep, I agree with you Ladybear, this is been a wonderful contest to be in. I'll take this time to thank all who participated and made it so worthwhile. Kathi and powerband should be commended. I am glad I learned about Cactus and will keep the site bookmarked too!

Me too......but "paying" out 70 million, most of it would never get paid out. Where it would if they gave 1 mil to 70 people.

no, no permit. vendors just send them. cell phone mfg's get by because the batteries are in a device.

Love all the great feedback about the Subtank. I've even learned the potential pit falls of the few complaints and know to watch out for the o-rings and building properly to avoid the dry hits. One other thing that I saw on a review where the person complained was that they didn't like the looks. I think it is a pretty nifty looking tank!

Batteries bother me in box mods. I know they shouldn't. I know that's where box mods started. But I have a hard time taking the Sig or the K-box and a host of others seriously when they want as much (or more) for the empty box as Eleaf wants for a sealed system. I suppose that replaceable batteries means that the hardware will outlast the battery...

Alright, you vaping pros, why should I choose an empty box over a filled box?

the filled box is disposable, the empty is not. IMO the empties in many but not all cases provide more power which equals more options for use

Well I am about out of ideas as to what I would like or like to see....but someone a long time ago posted a tool kit for RBA's and I like that idea...my little box that I started with is now shoebox size(it doubles as my tabletop to work on) and I see that I will have to even get bigger with my new addition....so having all the tools in a kit would be very ideal for me...I can reach in and just grab that...
But in the meantime I would like to have one of these someday....

I'm wondering if Cactus Esmokes will be carrying Kanger Subtank an iSticks anytime soon. I mean, those two products just don't seem very popular...

Ha Ha! well, when the iStick 20's are gone, they're gone, wont stock the 30W for reasons discussed on the other thread but maybe the 50 when I can get it as well as Joans IPV mini2
IMO I just have a thing for the IPV2X over the others mentioned

TY for the details. I am on the fence about making a move to 26650 devices just because I would need new sized batteries and charger, so I was hoping that the Maraxus, which is 18650 would be the front runner. Love the way both devices look, though - and want one!

the Dynast and Kriptonite among a few others come w/an sleeve for 18650 batteries so you can have/use a 26650 w/o having to buy the 26650 battery.

Yeah the sleeves are great, my BAM has one as well. Tho as I have 2 26650 cells when I had friends that needed 18650's that I had nothing else to use them in I gave them away.

There are only so many ports, and sometimes when there is a disruption in the internet service everything gets knocked off and then everything tries to reconnect at the same time and just cannot. Once the router is reset everything is put back in its place . The computer is not affected the same way, because it is wired to the router. It is all good now

Awesome pricing there powerband! Now that I've found out about your website I'm gonna have to check frequently for sales like that! I think I paid about $40 some for mine, although it was not recently.

It wasnt so much of a sale as they were on closeout as they hadnt sold in a while due to all the new stuff coming out but still a great mod for new vapers.
I lost money on all of them I sold. they were indeed sold for much less than wholesale cost. I didnt want to be stuck looking at a box full in a year from now.
I donated many of them to a vape/smoke cessation group here in Arizona that needed them.
they will wind up helping people so it was a good thing

I only think you would want a replaceable battery mod if you have a bunch of batteries already, and/or you will be out and about and the battery doesn't last until you get home. So you carry an extra battery.

But at a cost, since the empty boxes are expensive. If you really like the design, weight, finish and electronics in an empty box, and if you expect it to last 2 or 3 years, then the replaceable battery mod is for you.

For me, two things. The technoloy is advancing so quickly now that when my iStick battery finally is giving me such low run times, it's replacement will be far superior than anything I can buy now. I'll guess I wil have this iStick for 15 months. Now, let's look back at what was out there 15 months ago, and how far we have come.

Sorta like a pc. I don't buy an expensive one, cause I know it will be outdated very soon, regardless of what I buy.

And I can replace the battery in my iStick 20w if the bat finally fails. But I'm sure the threads on the 510 will be long gone before that!!!

kewl. I think my son's does that. when I'm over there I often have to reset the router, and also the roku box.

One more thing about sealed box mods. And this probably goes for a lot of things.

A really good sealed box mod is good, many benefits.

But a cheap poorly made sealed box mod is worthless, regardless of life or cost. Example? My Beyang 30w. It does not remember it's setting, and if there is any interruption between the atty and the Beyang, the resistance could change, and it resets to 5 volts! (at the calculated wattage.) I vape my kayfun at 9 watts. But sometimes the Beyang will suddenly read the resistance from 1.6 to 1.8, and jumps to around 17 watts!

(the problems with the beyonce, er, beyang is it doesn't remember the setting and reverts back to 5 volts. I think it was rushed into production to ship before the Chinese New Year. They should have waited. Or I should have waited for something better.)

I guess the same could be said of a garbage empty box.

As Stosh says, there are reasons both ways. But a quality device will always trump a cheap POS.
