I'd love for you to carry just a few bottles of Peppermint to throw into my order when I finally get an eleaf istick! (Just kidding, well, sort of....I really love Peppermint.)

OMG, I discovered we have WEtv on our cable. They have the old Abbott and Costello show from 1952 on every morning. Guess what I DVR daily now. Nothing is better than old school comedy. it's funny but they were the original rappers. Put some rap music to some of their routines of fast talking rhymes and see what I mean....
Lots of other great old shows and some not so great or ones I didn't like much. Remember the Old Route 66, the Naked City, Mister Lucky etc....

ok, lots of smoking in those old shows, I wonder what some of those character would have looked like, vaping on a mod or Box mod?

That sounds like a good analysis between the two as I was wondering the same thing. My question is with something like the sigelei 30w mini. Box mod that has a removable battery and also a USB port....how do you charge the battery? Must you take it out to charge it or can you use the USB? Or can you do it either way? Also with a closed battery....what is the normal length of time of use? Did anyone ever have to throw the mod out because of a dead battery? I really don't think I've heard anyone complaining about having to throw it out but I might not be looking in the right places?

You can charge the battery either way.

Regarding normal length of time? In the battery industry, that is referred to as "Useful Service Life". Yes, some batteries will die, but most batteries just lose capacity. Where you might get 10 hours when new, after a year, you'll only get 6 hours. The capacity, or the time between charging and discharged, will get just too short for your liking.

Many of the newer boxes allow on-board charging, but it is a more recent feature and some people have concerns with the safety of such a practice. So, for those devices that have it, you can charge either way.

With regard to longevity of a closed device, much of it depends on the quality of the battery/device, charging habits, and use. In many cases, it appears that other components will often fail before a battery gives out, but that is not always the case. Older battery technologies had a "memory" which was greatly impacted by whether one ran the battery all the way to empty prior to charging, charged all the way to full capacity, or just applied a boost here and there. Also, higher rates of discharge can have an impact on battery life: someone vaping at, say, 7 watts will not be stressing the battery as much as someone who runs 14 watts.

I've read some threads where people have posted a built-in battery dying on them. Usually, the battery goes into a slow decline and requires recharging more frequently. For myself, I have an MVP2 that I have used almost daily for nearly a year. It will not hold a charge as long as it used to--but I can still sometimes get a day out of it. But the MVP is well built: I suspect that my iStick 20w would not have fared nearly as well (although, one never knows!).

Peppermint is a really great and easy DIY juice. The Flavor West Candy Cane is a great single flavor at about 10% and ready to vape as soon as it is mixed.

30 ml of the flavoring is $4 or less.

Husband thinks I need to fix him a lavish meal this evening. He is going to be disappointed in the lavish part but will enjoy the chili anyway. He loves my Texas Red. When I first moved here, none of the stores had masa harina... seems they all do now... life is good.

Vaping iced tea NO LEMON in my little Taifun. Kid had a little trouble with the build but it is working like a champ now. Some kinda fancy build using wire mesh thru the holes and silica in between them in sort of a U shaped thing with the mesh being the sides of the U.

I never fooled around much with twisting my kanthral, as I have enough wire from 24 ga to 34 ga to fit any resistance I might want to try. The discussion got my interest up and I had a RDA to re-coil from my DIY misadventures.

Took a couple of pieces of the wire that's sent along with a new RTA tank, think it's about 34 ga, and twisted it together. What surprised me was how much easier it was to coil on my micro-screwdriver. All the springiness was gone and the coils stayed in place where wrapped.

I did 5 wraps, and it came out 1.2Ω, a few tenths lower than I usually use but serviceable. Wicked it with ecowool and a tiny piece of rayon underneath the coil to lessen leaks. Vapes very nicely without and special torching or compressing, overall a success...:vapor:

for those of us that have not tossed it around...
6+3=?
1+1=?

2/25
3

I've been batting it around and can't figure it out

6+3= 9
1+1=2

So is it the 9th person who posted wins 1st place
And the 2nd person who posted wins 2nd place

Or the 92nd post wins, or the 369th and the 112nd post wins or add them together and the 481st post wins

Lol.....I have no idea what the answer is

thanks for all that information. I haven't had a device with a removable battery yet so that's good to know. So.....if you can charge it through the USB can you vape while it is charging or is that too dangerous with the stronger batteries?

They should say in the marketing and labeling if pass-through is advisable.

"Do as I say, not as I do" right?! I really am at a loss for giving advice to new vapers at this point because they might as well just get the good stuff right off the bat. They have it so so much easier than just a year or two ago. It is such a layup to get started with inexpensive, wonderful equipment that the only real worry is that they get a greedy retail sales person that tries to sell them on an overprices ego-ce4 starter kit.

I was in the vape store near me talking to the owners and a young guy walked in. He had started vaping recently and was there to browse, when one of the owners asked what he was using, he pulled out of his pocket an istick30 with a Subtank. I was kind of taken aback!! But that is the way it should be now, in my opinion.

I agree. It's difficult to know what to recommend to new vapers. I used to recommend a spinner or twist and a Protank mini, but now I think I'd recommend an iStick 30 watt and a Subtank mini. The iStick and Subtank mini would be small and simple enough so it wouldn't intimidate them, and both the device and the Subtank would grow with them.

I'd have to agree with the iStick 30. The Subtank Mini can be a bit much for a first tank. If that had been my first... wow. It's potent. I've been recommending the Davide because it is inexpensive, is easy to thoroughly clean, glass, and will use either Kanger or Aspire coils. The draw is a lot tighter and a cigarette smoker can do mouth to lung with that sense of familiarity.

When I type that, I'm reminded of Posto Nove. I used to live in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The beaches of Ipanema and Copacabana have zones named after the lifeguard posts. Posto 9 is in Ipanema, close to the bar where "The Girl from Ipanema was written by Jobim and de Moraes.

Yes, I had a beer in that bar. Yes, I was 16, and waiters didn't check the IDs of americans who tipped.

"the girl from ipanema went walking...."

Brain not up to math today. Didn't sleep well last night because the security alarm kept going off.

Had planned on cleaning bottles and making larger bottles of some I did at 10 ml test flavors but that needs to wait until my head is working again.

I have all my DIY flavors on a spreadsheet with flavor, maker, and where bought. Now want to go back and find suggested usage rates for them and add onto the sheet. That isn't happening today either but amazes me as to how much time that list saves me when looking for a flavor either when making juices or when out and need a re-order.

I started out with peach e-liquid and it did the trick (getting me off of analogs). I was NOT a menthol smoker. I mistakenly got a bottle of peach with menthol. At first, I was like WHOA. But gradually I was like YES! I am now a peppermint-minty-fruity mint type vaper. I am glad I found menthol/ice/mint because it gave me that extra something that I needed to stay off of cigs. I am afraid what would have happened had I not found it....I probably would have reverted back. Cigarette free since September 2012!
