Although time consuming at first, you get a better understanding of how the atomizer works and it can aid you in diagnosing issues with most atomizers. It becomes easier and quicker over time.

It also gives you better control over how you want to vape. Coil properties and coil placement can totally change up a tank to where you like it.

I like the Aqua V2&SE for primary use, the Goblin is also one of my favorites.

Building coils that suit your flavor and vapor needs, one day you can chase flavor and the next day clouds with the same RTA. Regulation might come into play and only sealed systems may be an option. I don't want to go back to smokes and I like options so I learned how to build and mix to make sure I didn't go back to smokes.

I like to tinker and try new things, building has got so many choices of different styles that can be created and all offer different flavor or vapor production.

And I find it fun and relaxing.

Something nobody has mentioned yet is temperature control. A RTA is a far FAR FAR superior platform for TC compared to a clearomizer. Clearo heads are crap in terms of conductivity, legs are too long which plays hell with resistance readings, and they just generally suck.
