AW IMR batteries are not made by Panasonic. Panasonic doesn't even know that AW exists.

AW stands for Andrew Wong - guy from China (Hong Kong).
AW IMR batteries are not from Panasonic, but from unknown Chinese manufacturer.

I hope this will clear many disinformation floating around about some special company making even more special batteries.

This guy started first, and that is all. Times are changing, and many new batteries are out.

Andrew Wong AW is just one of many suppliers that provides good batteries, except one thing- you will pay much more for AW without any credible reason.

Will always go with known brand until Andrew AW reveals where his cells are really coming from (with manufacturer datasheets).

IMHO that will never happen- because most of his cells are coming from Chinese manufacturers.

Hey guys I was looking at the website that was linked in the thread and it blew my mind, 3400mAh? now I have questions...

For the ProVari which battery is better:
3400mAh Protected Panasonic 18650 battery cell by Orbtronic
or
Panasonic 18650 3400mah NCR18650B battery cell

is the $4 saving worth getting or would you go for the pricier one?

I want the Best obviously Longest use, Fastest charging, Safest and such you know...

THX in advance

You cannot use the first one because it is protected (longer, and will not fit in Provari).
Second one is flat top, and Provari will not work with flat top.

You need something like this Panasonic CGR18650CH with top button.

hybrid IMR

Probably the best price you will ever find.

OK...
I saw the ones I linked to had 3400mAh and that's what really caught my eye.

The one you listed has 2250mAh, is there a "bigger" (more mAh) one that will fit the Pro?
Just looking to extend battery life as much as I can.
THX :)

the panasonics are the highest capacity i've seen..the nature of the technology does not allow it to have the same capacity as li-ion..

The CGR18650CH button top works very well in the Provari. I'm a chain vaper if I'm home on the computer, and in a 24 hour period I will usually discharge one to about 50% (that's where I try to recharge). I've had really good luck with these, and the extra battery life vs. the AW IMR 18650 - 1600 mah is very noticeable.

Also, I'm using a Pila charger and am very satisfied with it. Pricey, but the safety and battery life factors made it worth the initial expense for me.

those are great batteries..their protection circuit is top notch also from seeing the discharge graphs..but you really want to use an IMR battery or the panasonic CGR18650CH to be absolutely safe..the 3400's you posted are protected and the circuit is a good one, but the circuit could always fail or not do it's job properly..with the IMR you are certain your face will be ok in the event of a battery failure..I highly recommend the panasonic 2250mah CGR18650CH

I have always used AW 18650 1600mAh batteries in stacked, single, and boosted configurations. All charged on a pila.
I have done a little research on the best 18650, and base on this CPF users 2012 18650 tests at 2,3,5amp (est. amp draw on dual/quad/6 coil use)Battery test-review 18650 comparator I will probably get these LG-ICR18650D1 3000mah 4.35v (pink)Lithium-ion Battery (CR-ICR18650D1) Lithium-ion « Cordless Renovations if I can source them.
And this charger: CottonPickers 4.35 volt + DM (--> FS: Cottonpickers Chargers incl. Worlds smallest Li-ion charger with display )
