I just asked this in another thread. What is a "troll" as used on this forum?

Apparently someone who gets a lil excited about a vendor's mistake and doesn't share the opinion of others on it.
I do find it hilarious being called a troll here as my posting history shows quite the opposite. It's ok, they can be "outraged!"

I would certainly send the second one back as it doesn't belong to you. You didn't pay for it. At the very least contact the seller and let them know what has happened. If you feel you have won some victory it may be short lived if karma has anything to do with it. You're the only one that can determine what you'll do so whatever happens falls on you.

For the record...I wouldn't have called you a troll. That would violate the "how you treat others regardless of how they treat you". Name calling does not help the discussion. IMO. It is totally up to you how you handle this and you have to make your own decisions that you can live with. We all make mistakes so no rock throwing from me. If it was me, I would send back the second one but that is me.

The cut of your jib, I like it.

I am a big believer in karma (both good and bad). You might find that one of those two MVPs is lost or breaks or something that leaves you without it if you don't let the seller know he sent you two. Heck, you might even lose both of them. Most folks who sell on ebay are not making a bloody fortune there and it is a lot of work. It would be the honorable thing to let the seller know he/she had mistakenly sent you two replacements. That is my :2c: at least.

I am an ebay / etsy/ etc seller. I'm not a big corporation and my profits are small. The stuff I sell is for the love of it. I'd ship the extra back or at least let them know. They may very well tell you to keep it but still.

Really guys? IMO attacking Jarbs is no better than keeping the second MVP. I think he gets it. Saying it harsher isn't helping make the point.

just what I was thinking,,,,,

I meant no judgement at all, to be honest,,,,,,I've made mistakes and done things in my life I was ashamed of,,,,,,we can gently point out that we feel it's dishonest, but it's up to Jarbs to make the choice him/herself.

I think the word "troll" was raised as most people would not condone the resulting action - thus causing a debate and inevitable "outrage" at the action.

I'm 50/50. I don't agree with keeping it, I see it as partly theft (and partly the sellers error). It's like finding a wallet loaded with £50 notes outside a police station.

Yes, I've made mistakes, but trust me, I regret every single one. So yeah, I'd hand it in and post that back. That's my opinion. I don't agree with yours but most people were not going to condone this thread and pat you on the back, so to speak.

No-one can say "hand it back" - it's not for anyone to tell you what to do.
