The Russian was my first rba, Kayfun style. Pretty easy to set up and most builds will vape great with it. I use 28 awg Kanthal and I works great for my builds of .5-2 ohms. I started with a sample of 28, 30 and 32 awg wire before I settled on 28. I do micro coils on 90% of my rba's, they are great and one can become proficient in no time.
I'm not into drippers, seems like a lot of effort to go through, when my rba tanks can vape just as well and have lots of juice on board. The best thing to do is research the style of rba you like. I like bottom coil devices, so that's the style I generally shop for. Get a good quality rba, and it will last a lifetime.
There are tools of the build that you will probably want to pick up along the war, like an atomizer ohm meter, Butane torch, needle nose tweezers and pliers, mini screw driver, I like using blunt tip syringe needles to wrap my coils, makes for easy wraps, mounting, and resistance changes. Some stuff I had laying around the house, some I picked up along the way. I usually wick with hemp fiber or cotton.
Building is and ongoing learning experience, as one tries different techniques, wicks and style, the build evolves. I often find myself incorporating different build styles into a new build. Look into all the different option and styles, then go with what makes sense to you and is within your skill set.
Good luck and have fun!!
