So I talk to a lot of smokers who are considering switching but are dead set on finding a cigalike type device. What should I recommend? I never used the cigalike types but I can defenitly see the appeal and with so many crappy versions I don't know what to recommend. I'm looking for top of the line one preferably. :)

Sorry, NONE.

Think of steroids, even an EGO is a cigalike on steroids (but there are better).
When an athlete takes steroids, they get:
Bigger
Stronger
and Have More Stamina

Same goes with E-cigs. A little wimpy cigalike will not satisfy them, even if you had a good flavor. BUT you could try them on Njoy or Whitecloud, then move them up when it was not enough. Thing is they want a cig size PV that is a like cigarette, No Such Thing, Sorry.

i started with a mistic and the taste was HORRIBLE but the cig itself was okay.
maybe it would be best to get one of those or one like it (since they are dead cheap) take one of the cartridges, clean it out, and add a juice you think they'd like, that way they get the cigalike automatic battery but with juice that actually tastes good.

I vote Smokeless Image, I have a few old Volt batteries that I still use all the time with their mini clearos. A few of those and a couple eGo-style batteries are what I usually recommend to converts (along with a little sample of juice I think they'll like)

I know I have one of those somewhere, I need to go dig it out now. I still remember how vile their juice was

Thank you guys for the information. One of the ones is my mom who doesn't like the ego, or anything bigger but is looking or the cigalike I do remember grimmgreen mentioning the bloog an volt, but as it was an old video I didn't know if they were still the top contenders :)

I'd say they are still in the top contenders. I used them a lot - they got me and kept me off cigs. They have bigger ego size batts and vv spinners now too - so if some-one does decide later they want something bigger they can still use all their Smokeless Image stuff.

These coupon codes should still work:
10VOLTECF for 10% off entire purchase
CompareOur808d for 15% off cartomizers only

Back when I started vapeing all I used were cig a likes. I agree 100% they just will not satisfy. But if someone is happier with that rather than ciggrettes they should by all means give it a shot. What I used for the longest time was V2. They held me for awhile. Just whatever you do, keep them away from Blu!

I'll probably get flamed for saying something nice about a cigalike brand (especially one now owned by BT), but I still like and use Green Smoke. I enjoy all three of their tobacco flavors (Tobacco Gold especially *yum*), two long batteries last me all day when I'm out and about (I use PVs at home but still prefer cigalikes when I'm away), and their cartos deliver a perfectly satisfactory level of flavor, throat hit, and vapor production. Their replacement cartos are pretty expensive, so I don't buy them often; usually I just refill the used ones with the juice of my choice and they still work perfectly well. But once a month or so I get a jones for Tobacco Gold and send away for a pack.

I'll skip everything and just nominate the Smokeless Image Volt.

Why?

*Volt mah: 220 (roughly little over 2 hours of vape time)
*eRoll mah: 90 (is that right? correct me if I'm wrong) - (roughly an hour and a half of vape time)

*Volt: Carry two batteries with fresh cartridges and you have a good night out, you need nothing more (a fresh Volt cartridge -- if you're using blanks and other vendors' juices -- will last you a day, maybe two days, with topping off here and there, maybe a few drops, easy to do, no special tools required).
*eRoll: Carry a PCC pack (size of a cell phone), with several batteries, you need a needle tip bottle to fill the tank, the tank is finicky, as is the atomizer. You have multiple parts to keep track of and maintain. You will need to refill the tank with the needle bottle constantly throughout the night.

*Volt: You screw a cartridge on and you puff. Done.
*eRoll: you have to fix the atomizer to the tank and then puncture them and fill the plastic tank with a needle tip bottle and... dude, this was so 2011...

Anyway, Volts are easy peasy, deliver just as much satisfaction as an eRoll.

FINAL CALL:

You're drunk in a club. You're in a bathroom. Music is pounding. Which is easier? Screw a cartridge you already primed with awesome juice onto a simple stick battery and puff, or lug out your eGo carrying case with sketchy looking needle tip bottles, a cell-phone sized PCC, multiple batteries rolling everywhere, while other sketchy-looking patrons using the toilets look on... I'm just trying to make your night out easier, bro... ;-)

In My Opinion.

Yeah, I used Greensmoke back in the day but they were too expensive and limited accessory wise to be an all day vape for me. There are others that work great with more variety and less cost. No flames, just a comparison. :)

My advice would be to negate the whole "cig-alike". I guarantee that one will spend hundreds finding one suitable including cartridges or accessories. I can't say that ALL will progress to using giant mods, tanks, or top-notch "gear" in the long run, but skip past the main frustration and get an eGo C Twist. As a highly rated battery, add a glassomizer, and focus MORE on the JUICE that will keep you off of the real deal.

I started way back in the day with Blu (many cartridges, many lost batteries), then V2 (multiple attachments, Many cartridges), and then an eGo (multiple attachments), the eGo is the only one that kept me from reverting to analogs (cigarettes). So, skip the chase, avoid the charge per fifteen puffs. Believe me when I say you WILL go back to cigarettes using the cig-alikes.

Not true for me or people I know. I used the cigalikes for several months, and went bigger from curiosity to start with. Then I liked the longer batt life from ego size. I know people who have quit using cigalikes. They may not have been enough for you, but for some they are. The OP pointed out smokers he/she knows are deadset on cigalikes. I think people should start where they are comfortable. I have also experienced smokers being firmly against even an ego size pv, but ok with cig size and they bought cig size pvs. I showed them my ego size, but no - they refused anything bigger than cig size.
So no, people will not necessarily go back to cigarettes using cigalikes. They'll either be fine, or will find something bigger if they aren't satisfied.
