Hello Everyone,

I am looking to quit smoking for good this time as I will be starting medical school and want to go back to vaping instead. Right now I have a JoyTech Go-C and it has been really good it is also expensive and I tend to lose them or run out of charge.

Basically I am looking for a great e-cig that is cheap to buy the batteries and parts etc. I remember I used to own a few DSE901 e-cigs and they were great since it was about $10 per battery but they didn't last that long before breaking down. Any new models out there that are comparably cheap but decent quality so I can buy at least 5 of them and keep them in a case in case I get the urge for nicotine...

I would get the best "bang for a buck" model on the market, the variable watt Vamo ($25 - $39). It's variable watt (VW) which is closer to "set & forget" and is very consistent. It has a 5 amp switch, so you can use almost any atty/carto on the market with it, unlike the eGo's that limit what you can use. You can use either one 18650 battery, two 18350's or one 18350 (in shorty mode). For a heavy vaper, you will get 10 - 15 hours on a charge. The batteries cost about $11, unlike the variable eGo batteries that cost $25+ and they will last 2 -3 time longer than ego batteries, lifetime. Here is a review and a site that sells them:

I'm gonna go with WV on this one. The cigalikes haven't gotten any better. If you don't need the variable wattage (doesn't sound like it if you were happy with your 801s vape) You could get a cheap mechanical mod. You'll have all the same battery advantages he was talking about. Check out this group http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/groups/budget-mechanical-mods.html for different options. I've heard good things about the natural.

JMO? I'm fairly new, but I've learned a lot. My advice: buy a couple eGo-c batts (I think mine were about $19 US), order some 510 pre-filled cartos to find what flavors/nic strength/PG-VG ratio you like, then start using juice to refill the cartos you've bought and used. A great way to find what satisfies your taste and needs. You can always advance from there to mods, etc. Me, right now, I'm happy where I am. Got a lot of used cartos, and just started ordering juice. And, these eGo-C batts can't be beat IMO, they last forever. Oh yeah, the Joye 510 XL is a great batt too when you want to look "normal" when you vape in public.

Oh, and good luck in your schooling. Very admirable. Don't forget me when you start practice!

Any of the ones with the ego style batteries. And cartomizers and a charger. It'always best to have at least 2 of everything. And get juice too.

2of these would be ok. That way you'd also have 2 chargers.
also a couple of tanks.

that's just some possable choices.
juice I buy from a local store. There are some good on line stores too. Others can recommend them.

He already has an eGo-C and wants something better that will last much longer on a charge and not cost $20 - $30 for a battery.

Yes last post is right but isn't giving any advice, I will probably go with Brocks recommendation as it is cheap.

Once your done spending money on "Cheap" stuff....If you havent gone back to smoking due to weak unsatisfing hits/short battery life... Dont give up vaping until you try a begingers kit I recommened...

Provari V2.5
AW batteries
510 Cisco atomizer---then when you learn to drip get an HH357 510 atomizer for real performance..
Innovapors 24-36 mg Unflavored 100% VG e-liquid....... VG keeps the high nicotine smooth with/good TH
Provari for a beginer? Yes its an easy to use no brainer quality VV mod that will satisfy a smoker..
And if you find vaping isnt for you then the Provari can be easily sold on the Classifieds for top dollar..
The cheap China junk ecigs your looking at will just end up in the trash.....wasted money!

Riverboat,

I like the Provari that you posted however it runs about $160 for one unit, with medical school I will be really busy and moving around a lot and things will tend to get "misplaced"/lost... That is why I am looking for something cheaper where if I lose it then it is not a big issue. I will still have my eGO-C for at home use. I might also get the Provari starter kit as a back-up unit to use at home which I won't carry everywhere with me.

Can you recommend where I can get these different mods? If you could link me to each site with the products which I should get that would be great as I haven't been vaping in a while now and there are so many new sites out there... I remember you could buy a large bottle of VG liquid and mix in the nicotine however are there sites that sell large amounts of it premixed but are not going to kill my wallet?

And to this some juice, if that's not cheap enough find some Dekang juice you like. Add a few more evod attys and you should be set to go for quite a while for under $100.

ETA: I really wish I'd found this site BEFORE I ordered my first cig-a-like kit and asked the same question. I would have saved quite a bit of money.
