Id recommend doing more general research so you can ask a more specific question.
Asking "which is the best mech with a lock ring" is like asking "which car with a 5 speed tranny is best",

There are far Too many models with too many options to begin to answer that question.

Clone or legit?
Copper, brass, stainless?
Recessed button?
Telescopic, sectional or solid tubes?
Is 18500, or 18350 battery sizes important to you or is 18650 all you want to use?
Inner threading 20:1 important for hybrid attys? Or no?

See what I mean? Not being a jerk, I'm just trying to help you get the correct answer to your question.

Now to get you started, here is a nice mechanical that has a sweet lock ring, recessed button, spring( magnets available), and copper contacts..
$19.87 King III Style Mechanical Mod - brass / brushed at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

If you look on that page you will see about 6 different versions of that mod.
See? Options...

There so many choices out there. But I'll give you my opinion based on what I've experienced.

Of all the mech mods I own, the Emit Vapor Shotgun mod has the most confident locking ring. It's reverse threaded and feels solid when locked. It also has a recessed magnetic button with a long throw, so you know you'll have to really press it to fire. When traveling with a mech, I feel very safe with this mod.

I recently purchased a Stingray X clone. The locking ring kinda sucks. It's not reverse threaded and when I engage it, sometimes I back the button out as I'm locking it. I end up twisting the locking ring, then tightening the button again to meet the ring. When engaged, I'm pretty confident that the mech will stay locked.

I've played with a copper Pegasus, but I feel that the locking ring will eventually disengage itself if I pocket it and stay on the move. If I pick one of these up, it would probably be my stay at home mod.

Those are the mechs I have experience with. Hope that helps!

Sorry for the extremely vague post. Authenticity is not important to me.
I prefer copper, the button doesn't matter too much to me, but I'd like to have a magnetic button. I only use 18650 batteries, and I do not like telescopic mods.

I'll have to look into the Emit Vapor Shotgun. I was looking at a Sir Lancelot or a Akuma.

My first mech was a knurled king clone. Definitely not a fan of it's stubborn reverse threaded locking ring or loose on/off button. I'm sure it's smoother on the original -propably got what I paid for. Not a big fan of tubes in general but the Steel Punk Slug and Kato Box look interesting. Something that can't rest on it's firing button.

See, I'm the opposite. I don't like box mods at all. They just don't feel/look right. I would like something that can rest in the firing button.

I've never had any of those issues with either of my king clones.
I never use the lock ring as it has a recessed button.
Loose button? Tighten the screw?
Mine are flawless. I have two.

I was just going to write all of that!! That and the king looks great with a Kayfun or steel Fogger on top. Nice heft in the hand.

I never bother with locking rings... I have two smpl mods that have no safety and if it's going in a bag and not in my pocket I back out the button two twists and it will never short out and still have plenty of threads so it won't just fall out.... I mean a locking ring needs to be screwed out anyways and my sting ray needs like 10 twists to lock it... It's much faster just to unscrew the button two twists

I just purchased the 2 Puffs Munstro V2 mod. The locking mechanism is excellent.

I have never had a mod with a locking mechanism because all of my mods are Manhattans which do not need a locking mech.

I highly recommend the 2 Puffs Munstro V2 or V1 if you can find them. They will cost around $225 but you they both come with different color tubes.

The Munstro V2 comes with 4 different color tubes (white and black 18650) and (gunmetal and brown 18490). The Munstro V1 comes with (brass and copper 18650) and (brushed silver 18490).

I'm going to be honest and say, I have a lot of mods.... For me, and this is just my opinion, nothing hits like a legit Nemesis. I've got 2, both ordered directly from Atmo (shipping from Greece, arrived at my house in 3 days). A Nemesis SS Shined and a Nemesis I put together myself with parts ordered from Atmo (my 'custom' :) ). I also got the magnet upgrade for the switch.

The quality of the workmanship
The smoothness of the switch
How easily they work with every atty I've thrown on them
How durable they are
How hard they hit
How smooth the threads are (lock ring included)

They are just amazing.
