Hiding up a tree
Hey,

I am looking to start my DIY journey as I am fed up with the hit and miss nature of buying premade juices.

Can anyone lead me to a good VG nicotine base supplier in the UK?

I am looking for the cleanest tasting nicotine base, with none of that peppery taste that some nicotine bases seem to have.

I have posted this thread elsewhere to no avail, so I am hoping DIY forum yields better results...

It doesn't appear that this UK manufacturer sells retail but perhaps they can let you know where to buy:
E-Liquid Nicotine | Liquid Nicotine Solutions

Thanks for the link, although I am looking more for nicotine sources that people have tried (and tested). There are vendors here that sell it, but I have no idea of the quality.

I am a really sensitive taster, so I am trying to source a vendor that supplies a VG nicotine base that has little to no taste/smell to it. I have heard good things about Vapers Tek, but despite being sourced here (apparently) they don't sell here or ship here. :/

I've only ever used 2 sources and I've been happy with both. I can't detect any unwanted taste with the nicotine base. But to be honest, my taste buds are probably shot after 30 years smoking. Plus I always go to the top end of flavour percentages when I mix up a juice, so my recommendation might not be the best, but here they are anyway :

UK Nicotine Base

I use LT now, as their one of the cheapest around. They do come in plastic bottles though, so if you're worried about possible leaching of the plastic at all, best to use the base up fairly quickly.

Totally Wicked Nicotine Solutions | Varying Strengths

Started off with Totally Wicked bases. Not the cheapest around, but it does arrive in glass bottles.

------------------------

72MG 7.2% VG NICOTINE BASE

I've not tried Chefs nicotine base. But their pre-mixed juices are top class. So if the base is as good as the pre-mix, it's another option.

Hope that helps. I've been DIYing for just over a year now. But I do still buy pre-mixed from a few UK and US sources :)

Totally Wicked I had heard of, but I view them as the 'Harrods' of the vaping vendor world...

They are. Overpriced and average at best..

Also, their concentrates are off-the-scale bad, weak and yukky....

If I was mixing tomorrow, I'd go with LT base and probably Decadent Vapour flavours.

Just got mine from kraken ecigs. Supposed to be really good and a very well know vendor too . 100ml of 72mg was £16.10 that's with postage :)

It's that old saying " you get what you pay for "

Sent from my HTC One

Sadly it uses a PG base :(
Trying to get a VG based Nicotine source, I am a heavy dripper (nothing to do with forgetting to shake...), it probably makes little difference, but I am trying to limit the PG mainly to being in the flavouring.

Nice one, thank you for that trouble1000, much appreciated!

I had not heard of either of those sources before, so I will check them out.

Not a problem :)

Totally wicked got me started with DIY, but you always find something better/cheaper over time.

I'd recommend the flavourings from Chefs Vapour, especially Inawera. A very strong flavouring, you only need about 3-5% in a mix, compared to the 20% I used to use with TW flavourings.

Like I said, I can't comment on the peppery taste. But LT bases are cheap enough to make it worthwhile trying in the first place.

Let us know how you get on :D

LT base sounds popular so far.

For the flavourings I was thinking of trying out Dohler (umlaut over the o) or somewhere out of the 'norm'. The thinking behind this being that I have tried a lot of UK vendors' creations and have been less than impressed with the majority, so I want to try to avoid where they get their stuff from. I am one of those people that likes to make things difficult for themselves...
