The DNA is just a battery that runs a certain amp to the coil based on your setting. What ohm coil and what watt are you running on the DNA? Also what setup, an RBA, a tank etc?

I run different setups on my DNA. Right now I've got a 1.3 ohm coil at 16 watts in a Magma RDA. I also run a Zenith V2 at .5 ohms and somewhere in between 18-24 watts. Other times I've got my Taifun GT with 1.0 ohm coil at 9-11 watts.

Ok lets stick with the current coil you have in there, it's a .8 ohm micro coil, that should be vaping at 17 to 22 watts depending on your battery and voltage drop.

So right in your stated wheel house.

with your zenith do you run micro coils and cotton?

Other than lack of flavor describe the vape compared to a good Zenith hit. To hot, to hash, not enough vapor etc..

The other day I was puzzled because my little Reo just was vaping too weak. I sat and pondered for a while. Then I put a new battery in it. Could it be something that simple. I hope so, but if not, there are lots of helpers here! :)

I wish it were, I've charged all my batteries and used them, still same results. I've taken it to work the past two days hoping something would click and I'd fall in love. While it's gotten me through the day, it's just not hitting the way I had hoped. I'm hoping there's an answer out there somewhere for my problems. Everyone keeps saying that the RM2 puts out great flavor, I'm just not seeing it.

Micro coils in the Zenith, with either cotton or rayon. Most of the time cotton though. Comparing the two vapes, the Reos vape is less warm, and no where near the vapor. I'd put vapor production from the Reo in the same category as a good Taifun or Kayfun vape.

Light bulb! (for some reason I hear Gru's voice)

Let's clean those contacts, if you have a build up of oxidation that could be the issue. Pull the RM2, battery and bottle. Give it a good washing the sink.
After that take a file( real or nail) to the top of the spring, Next hold the firing button down and file the metal point of the firing pin that stick out in the black delrin cover.

Don't be gentle give it a good working over with the file.

I cleaned the positive contact last night, but didn't think to clean the spring. I'll give this a try. Is this gonna do anything for flavor? I mean it hits decent, just very lacking in flavor, they're way muted, and at times i can't even taste them. Also it's my understanding that the upgraded contacts help with conductivity as well as voltage drop, is that correct? What is the average voltage drop of a Mini with the non SO contacts?

Voltage drop increases as coil ohms drop. Also batteries have an internal resistance and their own voltage drop under load that adds to the total drop. Every battery is different. So it's very had to compare mods. Typically you need to compare the same coil and RBA with the same battery.

My other thought is air flow, does the draw seem tighter than the others? The smaller chamber of the RM2 should produce as good an even better flavor than the Zenith, so something is off.

I would like to know how the flavor would be if you diluted the juice with unflavored base at a 50/50 ratio. Flavor came alive and ate me when I started cutting my juice.

Did you file it good when cleaning, many people found they did not file hard enough.

Alright.. So I just got done filing and cleaning. I went ahead and opened up the airflow a little bit. I'll be honest, I don't know the exact diameter of the air hole now. I was able to take a small flat head screw driver and 'drill' out the hole a little. The screwdriver actually worked perfectly and the hole is flawless. I swapped out batteries for a freshly charged one, filled it with PBC from NT, dry burned the existing coil and re wicked with cotton. After squonking, I fired it with the top cap off to see how it was working, and noticed that it seemed to be producing more vapor. So far so good! Threw the top cap on, and hit it. Air flow is a lot more suitable for me. I may open it a touch more. Vapor production is way better! And there is noticeably more flavor. I will say that it's still not as flavorful as my Magma, but is definitely closer if not almost the same as my Zenith. For sure an improvement though!

As far as cutting the liquid with some unflavored. I'd be very curious to see the results from that too. Unfortunately I don't have any to cut it with.

Thanks for all your help! I think I can make this work. I'm gonna keep playing with it and see if I can make any more advances towards flavor. But it's a step in the right direction. How often do I need to clean the contacts, and do you think upgrading them to the new ones would be beneficial? Obviously they would help, but will they make a noticeable difference?

I've been looking for a supplier of 29 gauge Kanthal with economical shipping to Australia (I can't find any locally). Temco charge around $30 for shipping. Kidney Puncher looks good, $6 shipping, but can only accept Western Union since international credit card won't work. Can anyone suggest other suppliers in USA, UK or Europe, then I can go to their website and have a look at their shipping costs?

I read all of this thread, and I must say, Joe I feel so bad for you right now. Your reo experience should be a lot better than what you are experiencing. All the praises from reo owners is the reason I got one. I've only had mine a week so I don't know how to help you, but mine sure has delivered. I get better flavor from my rm2 than I have anything else I've tried. I can't help but think it has to be the contacts. If you haven't gotten it where you want it by now, I'd upgrade them. I have a 1.1ohm micro coil made from 28g kanthal threaded with 2mm readyxwick and it is amazing flavor. I'm able to pick out more flavors than before in some of my more complex mixes. Vaping some deep steep strawnilla from NT now and it tastes totally different in my reo than any other rda, or tank I have. don't give up on it. The people here will help you get her working like she should, and once it happens, it will all be worth the aggravation that you unfortunately are having to go through now
