My wife is letting me do all the preliminary research on vaping, and is down to jump on board when I've got most of it lined out and the first chunk of purchasing done / flavor finding. I went in a different direction than she's really comfortable with, larger batteries, and from what I've heard KR808s can't be beat in the slim battery department.

She said she'll be fine with manual or auto. We'll definitely be refilling, so manual would probably be better, but sealed autos intrigue me and would be better for her...I'm just not sure I trust them. In your experience, do sealed autos do an adequate job of keeping accidental overfills out of the battery? She doesn't smoke a lot and likely won't be using it often, so I'm not worried about more than 280mAh of power on a batt.

Outside of that it's mostly the cartos that I'm interested in. Are there any similar in performance to the 510 threaded Boge 2.0 Ohm LR cartos? I don't know how well (if at all) thread adapters will work with an auto KR808, so if possible I'd like to get a 510 to KR808 adapter for use on my equipment and set my wife up to go adapter free while we both use the same cartos (just looking to consolidate vendors mainly, and not have to double up purchases). I can see that causing problems though if I can't find a carto I like the performance of on my KGO.

I appreciate your input. Thanks in advance!

As far as 808s go, I'm pretty impressed with the Volt from Smokeless Image. It is a horizontal bottom coil carto and it's a little fog machine. I've used just about everything out there and usually use fat batteries, vv..etc and I keep hitting this little Volt today.

I had to get one because of all the rave reviews and expected to it be so-so, but it really performs well.

The volt is one that I've been pretty seriously looking at, glad to hear it hits well. Do you have one of the automatic sealed units, and if so have you had any issues with juice leaks? I know you old pros usually don't leak much juice, but figured I'd ask anyway.

I take it you're using the volt blanks - are those the ones that you're saying work well for you? Have you tried them on a 3.7v mid-size battery?

I went with the 78mm manual battery. I've always preferred manuals to autos for the more consistent hit. The button on the manuals is really low profile unlike the 510s so I can actually hold it like a cigarette and depress the button with the flat of my finger.

I do have a charger that works with my current 808 autos, pretty sure it will work with the volt, so I'm glad they sell batteries separately.

Glad to hear you can make the button thing work while holding it like a cigarette, that'll help her out the most...now the only thing I'm worried about is whether they have the manuals in a color she'll like, lol. They seem to have the sealed automatics in every color, but the manual only for about 1/4 of the colors.

And sorry for calling you a pro man, but you definitely know more (at least about what you like) than I do at this point, and all of your input has been helpful. Doesn't get much more pro than that.

Well, I can't help you with the color choices, but you can always pick up an extra battery (she'll probably need one anyway) in the other style in case she likes auto more than manual or the other way around. The auto batteries do require a pretty specific draw which can be difficult for a new user to get right in the beginning. The manuals hit the same regardless.

Also a lot of new users try to draw on ecigs like they do on a cigarette..a hard fast draw. This approach will most likely just end up getting the ejuice in her mouth. The pulls need to be long and slow. If she's sucking her cheeks in, she's pulling to hard (why do I have the feeling that this post is going to end up on the dirty minds thread).

Anyhow, we're here for questions anytime.

As for calling me a pro, I'm just bustin your chops. I was going to say "who are you calling old??" but I can't dispute that part lol. I am, however, not a man :)

Volt also has battery wraps. theyre durable stickers with designs. my gf really likes her leopard print batt wrap. anf ftr, she likes autos better than manuals.
