Best VV/VW in the sub $120 category.

Dear OP - I get it. Best vv/vw device in sub-$120 category. And I get this:
"Looking to get a VV/VW mod in the under $120 price range. I have been looking at the sigelei 20watt, but have also recently been looking at the hana modz dna 30 Clone. "

Sigelei. Until the clones have had more time in the wild - and also I'd want to know who made the clone. Or to put it another way - I'd be taking a punt on a clone right now. The Sigelei is known and they make good pvs.

At world of vape you can pick up two efest 18650 35a, NITECORE i2 Intellicharger and Sigelei 20W for around $132. That really is a damn good price.

I have two of the suggested, the Sigelei 20W which is close to your price range and the REO. Both are solid performers and I use them both all the time. I've only had the Sigelei for a little over a month but it has been flawless. I can go to .6 ohms, it has a built in meter and the tilting works out just fine. It would be great for a Patriot and you can start at higher ohms and work your way down to almost sub-ohm. I use it with my R91, it's great.

The menu is straight forward and easy to read. Will find out if it can go the distance but there are less button pushes because of the tilting, other PV's you have to change the VW by pressing the button.

Either of these will be a solid purchase.

I have no hatred of Provari. I've never even seen one. I'm sure they're a fine vaporizer.

Just the smugness of Provari zealots who question the buying decisions of others who seek specifically to buy something less expensive than a Provari.

Smugness? I don't think I was trying to be smug. There is a lot of talk about spending $120.00 on a mod that has less than 2 months of market exposure.

The chinese market has continued to produce higher priced mods over the last couple of years and while these devices continue to have more bells and whistles, they still use the cheapest materials possible and wrap them up in a stainless steel tube to make it look invincible.

It's one thing when someone is talking about a price range that is 1/4 or 1/2 that of a Provari or REO. However when someone is talking about slapping down 75% of a ProVari or REO towards a device that has no proven reliability, and no known warranty or post warranty support then I'm gonna say something. No one likes flushing their hard earned money down the toilet....(Well apparently I do, but that's another story). I apologize if you take that as being smug.

$120.00 is a a bit to sneeze at. I'd recommend the OP either expand his budget and see if it's better not to go ahead and save a little longer to afford a REO with a Kick module or ProVari to safeguard his investment as both of these are proven performers,

Or instead drop down to the $40 - $50 range of an MVP2 or Zmax and then save up.

I think if you are going to drop a Benjamin on any mod, you better have a proven track record, a great warranty/support department to back it up or both.

No It's really hard to imagine why some people keep misquoting the true price of a Provari. A brand new Provari starts at $159.00 with free shipping, not $200.00 or $200.00+. You can't include the cost of the batteries or charger as a minus because you need to do the same for a Sigelei as well, so. If you are going to quote the price of a ProVari, you might as well do it accurately.

I also noticed you mentioned ProVari in your reply, but never mentioned REO which was my other suggested Mod. Does your hatred only extend to ProVari's. I wonder why?

I'm not the one that was aimed at, but I'll give you a response. The Prothingy is over OP's clearly stated budget. Reo is a different kind of mod and unless he's lucky on a blemished one at discount also out of OP's stated price range. Even the blems are sometimes over $120. So you recommend two mods that are out of OPs price range, and neither currently has what the OP wants either.

Or in other words, you used the thread to plug the pv you think everyone should have regardless of preference or budget, and started another argument about a pv that isn't even relevant here.

Just sayin.

With any Chinese APV factory repairs just aren't going to happen. That's a given. My oldest Sigelei V3 is over a year old and still going strong without repairs. That said every APV is going to need repair eventually given enough use and time. The weakest component on the Sigeleis is the switch. The same is probably true of the Provari as well as these are the only electrical components on these rigs that have moving parts. Other component failures are extremely rare. I haven't done repairs on my Sigeleis yet. They don't need it. I ordered ten tactile switches that are sealed and rated for 1,000,000 clicks. I figure these switches will make my V3s and V5 darned near immortal. Ordered these for $10 and change last week from an electronics supplier. I know how to handle a 12-watt soldering pencil.

Do you also modify the control board mount or just pay attention not to overtighten the telescope?

You should charge $50.00 to Mod their Zmax. I could buy a $40.00 Sigelei tube from Desert Vapes, send it to you for an extra 50 bucks and for $90.00 total get something that probably would outlast 95 % of the stuff out there

Not everyone has a budget to expand, the OP asked for recommendations around $120 and the Provari doesn't come close. He is looking for VW, the Provari is only VV.

And some of the Chinese PV as proven, I have a Sigelei V3 that has taken a beating and still performs great.

I'm not a hater but the only thing the Provari offers that is different is the warranty which is a nice benefit because my friends have told me they have had to use theirs when it fails.

Looking to get a VV/VW mod in the under $120 price range. I have been looking at the Sigelei 20watt, but have also recently been looking at the Hana Modz DNA 30 Clone. I really like the idea of charging through the USB on the Hana Modz, but I am not sure about how the 2 will compare in vapor prodiction. I will be using a Patriot RDA and want to stick to a dual coil set up in the 1.3ohm - 1.8ohm range. Anyone have experience with these 2 devices? How will the vapor production be using these mods with the Patriot RDA? I understand that I won't get Mechanical Mod size clouds on a vv/vw but this is my first step in that direction. Any thoughts or videos that you guys could provide or direct me to would be greatly appreciated.

Lets please try to stay on topic and help this member out.

I was simply stating that purchasing any mod for $120.00 that has no clear warranty support does not appear to be a wise proposition. I only mentioned the REO and ProVari because they have a proven track record for reliability.

I understand the buy cheap and upgrade often philosophy, I also understand the buy once and never upgrade philosophy.

I don't understand the buy "middle of the road" and get no better warranty and no better quality. But hey, to each their own.

That being said: My top three suggestions.
1. MVP2: All in one package, long battery life, convenient operation and charging. Inexpensive to purchase and replace. The best Bang for your buck anywhere. (Street Price $40 - $45)
2. VV3: Same as MVP2 but smaller form factor and smaller capacity. A lot of advanced "mod" features in an Ego Form factor. Great for out and about. (Street Price $30 - 40)
3. Lavatube v2.5. It's an american company so you will get a year warranty with it and you won't be having to try and ship the thing back to China. ($79.95 for tube only from http://www.volcanoecigs.com/)

In no way would I spend over $100.00 without getting a year warranty and a clear means to exercise said warranty.

No, you are continuing to use the thread to plug. I don't know what part of the title Best VV/VW in the sub $120 category is difficult to comprehend. Its clear to me. The Reo is over budget and not with the features OP asked for. Provari is over budget and not with the features OP asked for.

I have a number of pvs and they all work fine over a year later. I don't appreciate your constant onslaught on a thread asking about vv/vw under $120 because people actually choose to recommend and buy something that you don't prefer.

Edit: Since I posted this you edited your post and added your suggestions - which makes it look different. But the fact remains - you are hijacking the thread. Also - OP was looking very much at Sigelei 20W or Hana DNA clone. It would be nice if people could have discussed those. And on warranties - it goes back to the vendor, and if its not user caused they replace the pv.

I haven't done any mods to my Sigeleis. I haven't replaced any parts, either. I tighten the tube correctly. They all work fine, even the 1 year-old V3. I bought the switches as insurance for if and when the switches wear out. Your Provari will eventually need repair too but you can pay ProVape for repairs. Any repairs I may eventually do in the Sigeleis will be DIY.

Are you the OP? If not then I really do not care what you "appreciate" or not.

My point is $120.00 is a lot to pay for with no "enforcable" warranty and there are many vendors out there that will forget a customer the day they make the sale.

There is absolutely nothing that says a warranty is the responsibility of the vendor, and yet that is how many Chinese companies back out of their written obligations. They claim that you didn't buy from an "authorized" vendor therefore they deny your warranty service. Innokin is infamous for this, which is why I don't purchase anything from them that's over $40.00 to $50.00

But, I'm the villain here because I actually don't want the OP to flush down $120.00 on something that has 2 months in the market?

Whatever....

And if the OP gets soaked for $120.00 because he followed some of your advice, are YOU going to buy him a new mod?

Didn't think so.....

You're still hijacking. Please don't. There are some very good vendors who offer a warranty on the product page for the device and take responsibility. There are ECF registered suppliers to choose from and fellow vapers to ask regarding vendors also.

Either the Sigelei 20 watt, which I have and enjoy and is very easy to use, or the Seven 22 would be where you want to be. Of course the Seven 22 will require 26650 batteries which can be an extra requirement if you are currently already using 18650s.

I'd like to know a bit more about the Seven 22 actually. It was going for around $80 not long ago. Wider than some tube mods from the looks.

It's basically the same chipset as the Sigelei 20W but is capable of doing 22W. The Sigelei has the SX200 chipset where as the Seven-22 is runing the SX220. Probably nothing more than a firmware difference. There's rumors that this chipset is actually capable of 30 watts as well and only needs a firmware upgrade to do so.

Innokin has already mentioned they have a DNA powered device in the works. It will be interesting to see which one wins the hearts and minds of the vaper. The DNA or the SX series.

The girth of the 26650 devices just make it a little bit big to carry on the go. Probably great for vaping at home while watching GoT though.

Both using gravity sensor too which also makes me think the chips, if not basically the same, are very similar.

Innokin and Segelei are two companies who have put out some good pvs. I think vapers choices will come down to preference on form factor and stuff like that. Unless there's real clear difference between the chips of course.

The DNA30 clone is an unknown at this point. The Sigelei is a great vaporizer at a very good price point and a known quantity.

I wasn't necessarily referring to you. Surely you've seen the "I know you're in the market for less than $100, so you should buy a Provari because everything else in the world sucks" kind of posts. They litter the board.
