Best way to adjust a build for a warmer vape?

So, I've just finished rebuilding my Taifun GT ready for a few days away where I'll be out a lot and won't be wanting the hassle of dripping.

It's a solid build, cotton and microcoil (8 wraps, 30g wire), 1.4ohms so it'll fire on my MVP as well as some mechs, and the flavour is spot on; but it's cold. Like, really cold. I can barely feel the vapour in my mouth as I'm drawing, but when I inhale the throat hit, vapor and flavour is there. If it was just warm instead of cold, it'd be my perfect vape. I've done builds in this exact tank before and got a nice warm vape with slightly less throat hit, which is what I was hoping to get again.

I have an idea of what is causing the cool vape, but wanted to run it by some of you guys first before I go in and perhaps ruin a good build. I'm thinking that the coil has perhaps too much distance between itself and the air hole on the deck. Does having the coil closer to the air hole generally make for a warmer vape? If so, then it should be a very quick fix for me — just a gentle poke on the coil down towards the deck.

Just want some advice from you guys as to what would be the best thing I do to improve the heat from this build.

Thanks!

I build my Taifun GT with a large coil at 2.3mm using 26ga wire for use on a mech. 8 wraps puts it right at 1 ohm and gives a nice warm vape without being to hot. Last build I went with 7 wraps and I'm enjoying it even more. I've also removed the air tube from the deck to loosen the draw but not sure if that would have an effect on the temperature of the vape.

Interesting, I will give some different coils a go in the future and see how it effects the vape because at the moment I guess I'm limited to what standard microcoils can give me. Yea I've heard of people removing the air tube, the Taifun does have a fairly tight draw but I know I've had warmer vapes in the past so I'm just wondering if there's a key thing I've done differently.
