One could ponder more on 'adapt to the world' (rather than try the reverse) but that could run to a whole book. The point in that quote though is akin to 'repaeting one's mistakes expecting a different outcome'.

I did the separation, it would not cleave, but I washed the top layer off easily and have a thick 'syrup'. Not sure what is in there, but I evaped 1 ml down, and ended up with some solids.
I then slowly heated up the dish, and at 160~170 there was a definite change, it instantly started to bubble and vaporize. when this stopped, I continued up to 300C with only charring of the residue occuring.
I will repeat the same process with the other partition, to see how much residue the process did remove.
* note, the process gave me about 20ml out of over 400ml, so a 20X concentration. assuming I got a full 300mg out of the original 30 grams,(not likely) then I have 300mg in 20 ml.
this would be a concentration of 15mg/ml.
