The generic Wal-Mart brand has a smell that's really familiar to me, but I can't quite put my finger on what it is...
That's freaking hilarious!

There is no such thing as "gunked up beyond all cleaning" once you learn to properly do dry burns. One thing to mention, I do this every few days. If you go too long, they'll get GUBAC (gunked up beyond all cleaning).
Have you ever bought homemade ice cream at a fair, at a rest stop, at a mom-and-pop gas station? Anywhere?
Did you like the people who sold it to you? Do you know them at all? You win at Wisconsin! -Magnus

I know at least 3 people who have cognative and emotional issues without nicotine and MAOIs. They cannot function nicotine free - they are more miserable without nicotine and it is NOT better for them. So, unfortunately, we can't "all agree" that it's better to be nicotine free. Smoke-free, yes.

I have a strong interest in this. I have never had a problem not smoking since I started vaping (once I resolved my own "start-up" issues). Had I started with better hardware, and been more knowledgable about liquid availability, I would have not smoked at all from my first use of an e-cig. As it was, I smoked only about 6 packs during my first 2 months, and I have been 100% smoke-free since.
However... I am now taking anti-depressants and anti-anxiety medication; the startup of of these issues coincided exactly with when I quit smoking, and persist. I have never needed such medication in the past. I had depression issues many years, but that was resolved with counseling (and I was smoking at the time). Some of it is understandable due to stresses in my personal life (the economy, my job situation, etc.), but I feel strongly that it might also be somewhat related to having been a 40+ year smoker.
I would like to investigate the use of MAOIs to "self-medicate" for this; in fact, my doctor suggested I try St. John's Wort. I would certainly prefer a more "organic" approach to depression management. I have also considered snus, and from what I've read, I'm fairly sure they would be beneficial. However, I believe I would find a more personally preferable solution in a whole-tobacco extract liquid, that includes the full spectrum of tobacco alkaloids contained in other forms of tobacco substitues such as snus.
Your thoughts, Kristin?

You know Kristin, so you DO know someone...lol
Maybe not personally, however
I used to be on anti-depressants and anti-anxiety. The road of my life led me into some research on nutrition and pharmaceuticals and knowing what I had learned, I could not spend one more day putting those things (pharmaceuticals) in my body. I started eating better (at least one big, green, leafy salad a day, no aspartame, no hydrogenated oils, etc...) and taking 5-HTP (WONDERFUL anti-depressant), 5000 IUs of D3 (another great anti-depressant) and some other supplements based on what my body was lacking. I never touched another pharma drug after that and never needed to (besides the occasional ibuprofen for headaches or tendinitis). I'd recommend looking into more holistic approaches - there's a wealth of info on The InternetsI can dig up some sites if you're interested.

No... I makes my own ice cream!Very tasty too, if I do say so myself.
I know Kristen is from Wisconsin. I was just poking fun.
I always end any cleaning I do with 190-proof Everclear. It serves to remove any traces of water and cleaners, and dries quickly. I've also started to use it around the house as a general substitute for isopropyl.
Moisture prevention in electronics is far to ingrained with me I guess.![]()
Well we may as well suck on a straw they say...which makes it obvious they have no concept of what vaping is like but perhaps its best for those people (having made their choice) that they don't.
Your from Wisconsin? Cool, I wouldn't have guessed that with Utah written all over you. Schweeeet...
And Everclear is easier to come by than 99% Isopropyl.. but if you've got a choice I still go w/ the later. Let chance of me drinking the cleaners. -Magnus
I'm definitely interested. I recall reading that another member, who has a chemistry background, had developed a method for a WTA tobacco extraction (Dvap, I believe), and there was some talk of a vendor that was going to start selling a WTA liquid. I need to locate those threads again. Since I'm DIY-ing now, a WTA liquid additive would be ideal.
