There is one thing I do have to give Fred credit for. He does a good job of keeping his retail business and the forum separate. I have seen many retail stores have forums and the forums are like one big advertisement for the retail products. Fred doesn't do that. Shows his hearts in the right place in that respect.

I'm torn on closing the thread. On one hand, I've really enjoyed the interaction with you guys. On the other, if another thread was started it could be viewed as a symbolic gesture that we're putting the negativity behind us and starting "fresh".

On a third hand (anybody want to share?), I just realized that nearly 50% of my posts have been on this thread...

I think a new thread for QSMB members would show that we're making a fresh start while giving members of both forums a thread on here for chitchat

Personally I agree. having this thread in place makes it easy for us all to stay in touch and discuss these issues.

It was never my intention to go over there and make recruits or change the forum, but since it has, perhaps some lives can be saved. If this thread helps us do that then it's a good thing.

Besides, the Mods watch this thread and if they deem it needs to be locked, I am sure they will do it when they deem the time is right. Those are just my personal opinions.

It was more a combination of the title of the thread and it may be keeping the wound open a bit from their persepective. I would like a place to discuss (a thread only of what this thread has evolved into) that doesn't present all of the earlier negative stuff. Maybe name it something like "E-cigarettes on the Quit Smoking forum" with a link to our new forum there in your first post, then have a mod close this thread with a link to the new one. We could carry on the happier, calmer discussion there?

I'm just going to defer to Kristin from now on... She said the same thing I did, only more eloquently. :)

Now I am not opposed to that idea at all... why didn't you say it like that the first time?? Where do you suggest it be placed.. same location as this one.. I doubt anyone really wants it in the general forum LOL.. your thoughts?
