Beware of the vamo v3 stainless from fasttech. Just got mine a couple of days ago and there are definite threading problems. The unit itself runs great but these threading issues are pissing me off and not worth sending it back for the 37 bills i paid for it. My protank fits but is wobbly when attaching it and seems like it will be stripped soon. iclear 16 won't fit at all. Any suggestions? Adapters? BTW, noob here, doing this for less than a month.

You might want to consider the 510 to ego adaptor, this will save wear and tear on your Vamo threads and allow you to use any 510 or ego threaded clearo, carto, etc. Fasttech has them as do most vendors, throw one in with your next order from whatever vendor you choose.

Normally $3 or less, they are a bargain when compared to not being able to use your device the way you wish.

510 Battery to eGo Atomizer Adapter If the vendor wants much more than this, look elsewhere.

I guess I got a bad one. This only seems to be an issue on the ss models. I'm a noob and don't know anything about your tanks. My protank is wobbly when screwing down until i get it seated. The iclear 16 just spins and spins. Had some metal flakes on my fingers after detaching the protank. Most likely from the tank and not the mod. But damn, this thing vapes so nice, but what do i know, just moved to this from v2 cigs.
Evod's T3's and boge F16's

I was thinking about getting an adapter, but if it doesn't work for you it probably won't work for me. What tank/tanks are you using?

Right now I'm just using evods. My protank even sits crooked. I have the SS as well.

Lotsa different stuff going on here, for sure. First of all, not all adapters are created equal. 1/1000 of an inch off is all it takes not to thread properly. Often times, the new vaper tightens there toppers a bit to tight. All it takes in one time, and you can damage the threads, the connection, push the pin, etc. Many have easy fixes, stripping the threads is not an easy fix. Another thing is that not all toppers are created equal. One badly threaded topper, out just 1/1000 of an inch can strip your threads. That's why the Vets recommend always using an adapter on any of your devices. I have a stainless Vamo V3. My threads are perfect. My daughter has one as well. I've already dug the remains of a Protank coil out of the 510 connection. Hand tighten sweetie, I say to her. She thinks it requires hand tools to put them on and take them off. Bye, bye threads and connection. You can mess up the 510's or the ego threads too. I have devices that won't thread the Evod's. Others that work just fine. Be patient, be careful, be gentle and vaping can be very rewarding. If you did get a bad one, you can send it back to Florida and FT has one of the best CS in the business, and way better than most US Vendors, I can tell you. Many stories about both of these on the Forum. I hope you get this worked out and good luck to you!

Yeah, well, i didn't over tighten the tank, it was wobbling the whole way down. I was sure not to over tighten because i had done my research before i received it and heard the horror stories about pushing the pin down to far and getting that 9.9 reading. I use the beauty ring that came with the protank to give it more stability. Should i get a 510/ego or a 510/510 adapter?

I'm running a 510-eGo adapter on my V2 right now since the Evods seem to tighten down too well to the Vamo's own connection, ended up having to get the head/base assembly off with pliers this afternoon..luckily I had already grabbed a 510-eGo adapter off MBV (one of the only places I've still seen them in stock, trust me, I went looking all over, including on MV's site) and it fixed the problem..not sure if it'll help on your V3 if the threads are already that bad, but could be worth a try for $5 including first-class postage. If it doesn't work for you, I'd gladly buy it off you as I still need one for a mod I'm working on, the one I bought for that purpose is now practically glued to my Vamo it's screwed down so tightly.

SS V3 for me too, the 510 threads are really crappy - nothing will screw in there at all. I have a bunch of little adapters and stuff so it's no big deal for me - but in my experience most of the Chinese mods are of a good quality with the exception of the threads - they are usually awful.

I could have sent it back but chose not to. OP, make sure you do, they will refund your postage too and you only have to send it back to Miami FL, not Hong Kong.
