Just got a bottom feeding cyclone and I'm having an issue getting it to work. When I attach it and squonk I get just a tiny bit of juice welling up from the bottom of the deck, and no return. It's like it's adjusted down too tight. The center pin with it's two holes seems to only have the top hole open. The bottom hole seems to be blocked. Is this normal? I've tried to unscrew the pin in the 510 connection (thinking maybe it can adjust), but it either doesn't unscrew or is in there way too tight. Any advice? Right now it's not usable.

The center post will unscrew but it is a bugger. I soaked the atty in hot, almost boiling, water to soften it up and then was able to unscrew the center post. It doesn't sound like this will help your issue though.

If juice is coming up but not returning, it sounds like an air leak in the bottle. Check the o ring, make sure the bottle is snug but not too tight therefore pinching the o ring.

Well it's not broken. I finally decided to just put water in the bottle to see if I can get it to work right. Oh hey.. works how it's supposed to. So I tried a bunch of different juices. Most that I have are 50/50, but I have some that is 65/35, but still can't get it to work. If I squonk really hard and hold it, I can get a little trickle of juice pooling onto the deck, but no return, or if there is, it's only 1/10 of the little bit that came out. Checked bottle, tubes, o-rings... everything seems set the way it works with the RM2. Back to try water again.... yep still works. So what am I doing wrong or is this cyclone's feed path more restricted than most? This can't be the norm or I'd see more complaint posts about the cyclone.

The Cyclone's juice feed can be adjusted. If you take the first allen screw out of the center post, there is a second allen screw at the bottom of the post. That screw adjusts the juice flow. Mine was cinched all the way down (hence the only thing that could get through was water).

The only issue I have is that when I loosen the screw up to let more juice flow, it starts blocking the wire hole up top. So I've taken it out completely and will see how that goes.

I think they accidentally put the second screw in. It's not supposed to be there.

Hah, well then no wonder. So there WAS something wrong with my cyclone. I'll tell you, it's been very frustrating trying to figure this out. I'm going to throw a quick build on it just to give it a try.

:vapor: Ahhhh, now it works like is should! I would like to throw a shout-out to Ken for figuring out what was wrong and how to fix it. :D
:)

Thanks Reonauts for the suggestions. Please pass the info on if it happens to someone else and I don't see it. Towards the end I was seriously thinking it was broken.

Did you put both screws back in although without blocking your bottom hole? I would imagine it's necessary to allow one leg of your coil to get "sandwiched" between the two!

I just recieved my BF cyclone mid week and AFC today... so I set all up tonight and that was my first thoughts when I tightened center coil leg... "Wow what grabbed that so easy" then never thought of it again until I saw this post. Might have to take it apart tomorrow to see if I have 2 screws in there although flow is fine here.

Nope, just the top. Worked fine. No fluctuation in the ohm reader when moving things around and it cinched down with just the edges of the post holes I assume. If I do run into problems and need to put the screw back in, I may have to grind it down a tiny bit. As soon as I loosened the screw up so juice could flow, it started blocking the top hole. Either it wasn't ever supposed to be in there, or someone used too long of a screw so it does not have any adjusting ability between all the way closed and open but blocking the post hole.

So far it's working wonderful with a sloppy .9ohm single coil thrown on it to test. Been vaping on it for hours now, squonking is super easy and no leaking from anywhere. This is what I had hoped it would be like. Rough beginning, but it looks good now.

Let me know if yours has 2 screws please. I want to figure out if the screw is just too long or if it should never have been there in the first place.

later,
Ken
