All of the nitro planes use 4.5 nicads. But they start out at just over six volts when charged. So my little box is just now at 4.8 and the overheated taste is gone and the vapor is smooth.
Using a voltage regulator you can get 4.5 but you would have to start with a volt or two above the 4.5 to keep the voltage steady.
I just drilled out the start on my first little art piece. A part that is used on a afterburner and some other stainless doo dads. Also found a shotgun pistol grip but I put that idea to bed real fast...no...no...no. Going to look at some other boxes or maybe go with my first marital aid looking PV, a light saber looking thing would be kind of cool. lol! So I guess I need to look for a good circuit or three and see what I want to make now.
That brass beauty is a winner. Wow. Reminds me of a trench lighter or those old protopipes back in my college days. That is a work of art to say the least.
The most useful thing in my arsenal right now is my hobbico charger. It does li poly/ion Nimh/NiCad all of that at different voltages. I knew flying those dang planes would lead to something useful!
