Big battery mods...

So, I have a 510, mini, 901, screwdriver, ordered a protege (waiting for it) and just need one more toy,lol! Which of the bad boys should I get---what do you recommend and why? The most named choice will win me over--reasons count the most.

Thanks in advance for the opinions! BTW- I want massive vapor, long life of batts -which shouldnt be an issue w any of them, and most important--which will keep my attys alive the longest while having that simply massive vaping experience!!

to start the fun i have an outsider.
the big guy right from the 510 crowd ( Dura/Zenith/510, Bulli slim510 with 10440, Bulli Elite510 with 14500)

is a 18650 based Bulli extreme VR4 which uses Greencigs G120 cigar cartomizers.
the original ugly cigarlike cartomizer is undressed and put into a sleek aluminium Cart called "Nubsi". this way it fits color and shape with the rest of the device and is easily clean- and refillable.

the guy is big, complete with the cigar mouthpiece 200mm 131g and ~21mm thick, and not everyone likes to handle such a big device, but what the heck

btw: the cart holds theorethically ~3ml juice, but 2-2.5ml is in reality fine.
the device should be fine with grab'n go for a whole day for most vapers.

Why?...

1. Best PV out there. Hands down.
2. Hand made, hand finished...Much better than the GG.
3. Working switch... Much better than a prodigy
4. Copper and brass construction... No voltage drop like ALL the others, they use aluminium...which the tube will dent easily, like the prodigy.
5. Totally sealed, no chance of killing the battery
6. Uses 18650 battery(Chuck) or CR123a (Little Chuck)
Chuck can also use a 14500 or two 3v CR2's with available adapter.
7. COLORS!.. and not just crappy vinyl that will peel off! Actual powder coating!
8. End cap is knurled, for easy use, unlike the others
9. Recessed atomizer connector. If you drop it, you will not mess up the threads of the connector!
10. Switch placement! It is in the right spot! Not in the end cap, not at the bottom of the tube, but right where it needs to be, at the TOP of the tube!
11. Price!!!!!!! $75 + $5 shipping... $160 for a GG?!? are you kidding?

So there you have it. It is the best...in construction, materials, usability, and looks.

BUT, it still has an electrical switch with soldering. The button doesn't have a lock, it can be easily set off by accident if stuck in a pocket.

These are things to consider. Obviously, lots of other mods have similar downfalls and benefits. The price is definitely right on the Chuck though. Time and testimonials will tell if the Chuck can stand up to the "Big Boys" in the mod world.

My personal inexperienced opinion is that it probably will. The maker is making these out of love. The level of personalization is insane. These aren't just a flashlight with some glue in them. Then again they aren't a GG either. Compare prices and decide on your own!

I want to recommend The Chuck but I can't until mine gets here and I have a chance to put it through its paces.

EDIT: also not as a "entry" option but I'd suggest grabbing up a Prodigy passthrough as well for that big mod feel and 5v output without spending a lot and for those very rare occurrences when you'll need a back up.

I keep seeing these comments about soldered connections being bad...
Where does this come from? Millions and millions of products have solder connections in them. Are they failing at an alarming rate? Not in the least.

I will say, yes, I have seen cold solder joints. 1 reason for this... quality control. Either there was an issue with the materials, or the one making the solder joint (either machine or human) and it was NOT checked. I cannot see where a good solder joint would ever fail...and it is easy to see if hand inspected like these are.

As far as the unit being set off on accident... just twist the atty a half turn off, disengaging the center connection to the atty, or take the atty off completley during long transport.

I'd not really be worried too much about the button going off in a pocket. Just remove the atomizer before sticking it in your pocket. If the switch is the one I think it is, I'd not be too worried about reliability either. The weight would be a bigger concern, but I doubt it's that bad. I know my much smaller Copper is heavier than my Prodigy because it's made of brass. Thing is, there's a comfort in that weight also. You get that with the Silver Bullet also. I personally think this mod looks awesome, and I wish I could justify getting one. I'm only looking for mods with new features now.

The best features of this mod are:

*careful hand crafted build
*button placement
*six volt option
*radically variable customization options for the tube
*value based on the incredibly fair price

One of the things that makes The Prodigy so great is that because of the recessed button, it looks like a screwdriver or soldering iron making it not raise any suspision in public. This mod in black with a flatter more industrial looking button would do the same thing. This mod with a 510 in the smaller version would be a fantastic upgrade for a current 510 user looking for longer battery life.

I appreciate the time you took to make the rebuttal. I also agree with your points for the most part.

I just want to point out possible benefits and detractors of each product offered as I see it. Nothing against the Chuck, Screwdriver, Zimoshi, Silver Bullet, Prodigy, etc, but there is a possibility for soldered connections to fail, just as there is a possibility for mechanical connections to fail. That's up to to the end user/buyer to decide.

I'd love to own a Chuck (especially the matte black and black end cap model that the maker uses for his personal mod).

One thing to consider when getting a mod is how easily the switch can be replaced? The problem with a lot of these mods is that if the switch fails, you have to send it back to the manufacturer to get it replaced. That is a big hassle.

I was wondering if I could customize it a bit. Although Im totally IN LOVE with the Tarheels one I saw on another thread, the reason I started vaping is the customization I want on my chuck.

In june, I had a chest CT scan done to check the progress of using a bone-growth stimulator to heal 6 ribs that have been broken since I got ejected from my (ex)Jeep Wrangler in 2004. I broke 19 bones, but 6 ribs have never healed. I expected them to tell me my ribs had not healed, but what I didnt expect was to learn I had 12 noncalcified pulmonary nodules scattered about both lungs.

2 Days ago, i went for a follow up scan to see whats going on bc they are 3mm too small to biopsy or PET Scan. Well, only a small amnt of growth, still not big enough to biopsy, but 3 NEW nodules. BTW Im a (ex)smoker of 23 yrs and Im onlly 32......

I quit smoking the day I got my 1st e-cig in the mail on 6/23....I have felt a MAJOR improvement in my health, all except for the continuing fatigue.

SOooooo, long story short, If possible, I would like my Chuck to be Yellow, Have livestrong on one side, and the lung cancer awareness ribbon on the other. Please let me know if this is possible, it would mean a great deal to me. I may or may not have cancer, its a waiting game -but its not looking good with the nodules multiplying so fast... Im praying its not, and having the awareness ribbon on my Chuck will just make me appreciate my reason for quitting analogs more and more every time I look at it. I got my mom, who has been smoking for 45 yrs to start vaping as well-did it with me. I figure Ill get her one in Amethyst when I can get the cash together for a holiday gift.

I just ordered my Chuck tonight. It's just too darned awesome looking to pass up. Not to mention the rave reviews by folks who have gotten theirs. And customizable??? Fuhgeddabowdit. For $80, it's the best PV investment I will ever make.
