Is their something wrong with the finish on the black provari's. I have noticed a few thread about the finish wearing off and it is all been the blacks ones/

Second question: The Colored Provari's is that a ceramic coating? Is the Black ceramic as well or is it a different finish.

For those of you that have had them a while, Is the finish holding up?

The Black is ceramic, I had a black v2 regular about six months, sold it because I wanted the mini instead. Got that in black, neither one have chipped or peeled.

Here's the one I sold. Six months with daily use, drops and juice spills (including pluid and other tank crackers)

v2 and v2.5 are the same besides the tube design.

I would guess that black is easier to notice any chipping or peeling on though. And I do believe at one point the coating was not ceramic.

I've had my satin blue v2 Provari since the colored Provari's first came out, what...late August of last year. I'm not the kindest to my PV's. Mine has taken a number of spills from my lap to the pavement when getting out of my car. If you look closely, you can see a couple of minor dings on it.

Personally, I believe the cerokote (ceramic) finish to be much more durable than powder coat paint, which some of my mechanical PV's have. My white Silver Bullet and BB are only 3 months older than my blue Provari, and they have more and larger nicks and scratches on their painted surface from similar abuse from me.

I've only had my satin black v2.5 Mini for a couple of months now. It seems to be just as durable as my blue.

Glad to hear it's not a common issue. Since it's the same coating as the other colors, it does follow that it should have the same durability.

No problems with my satin black either. Don't really know how long I've had it. Maybe 1month or 6 months. Old brain don't remember the little things. Still looks brand new

I have a black mini. I haven't had it very long but the finish seems to be pretty durable to me. Of course if you drop it on a hard surface it could damage it but I don't see it just wearing from normal use for a very long time.

I've had my black mini for about 3 months and I'm just now noticing some wear. My advice, if your worried about the finish get the silver.

I have a black full size 2.5 with the ext. cap. I have been using it for aover 2 months non stop. I take it everywere I go no case just in my pocket. The finish is fine except for the bottom of the ext. cap. I see loss of color on the bottom of the ext. cap. Other than that no other loss of color
