Volts are already gorgeous with the silky texture and multiple classy colors of the batteries. But, I'm a blingaholic, and apparently many of you are as well. Smokeless Image makes it extra easy to bling your Volts. They offer a wide variety of skins that are really easy to apply and change as well as diamond tips for that little somethin' extra. They also offer a rainbow of carto end caps, and now there are several colors of soft rubber drip tips as well.

I've acquired quite a collection and wanted to share them to show you some of the things you can do:

MyVolts2.jpg

The snakeskin, gold glitter, leopard, and "Splat" on the purple (love that!) are skins sold by SI. The burled wood is an automotive vinyl that I got from Metro Decals. Metro Decals | Products > Wood Grain Vinyl. The grass on the far right is a self-adhesive shelf paper that I got off of eBay.

For those of you that order the skins from SI: Keep in mind that the whole sheet is a sticker, not just the punched out rectangles for cartos and batteries. There are nice edging stripes and logos that you can cut out and use too - such as the "VOLT" on my red carto and the Smokeless Image logo (just a hair too long) on my raspberry. The glittery gold stripe on my black drip tip is an edging stripe on the gold glitter skins. Wonder how long it'll hang on there. So far, so good.

My flavor labels are made with a Brother P-Touch PT2430-PC labelmaker using gold lettering on black.

So - Show us your Blinged Up VOLTS!

Hides his dingy white 78mm with the chewed carto under his shirt along with his basic black with the rubber drip tip. Looks great Rave!! Walks off to hide and take a drag mumbling.
Wuzz, there's nobody stopping you from joining in on the fun! C'mon, life's a lot more fun with a little color! :)

Nice, Rave!

I persuaded my work to get a p-touch 1400.. just wondering what labels are the best.. unless i am able to wrap all around the cart so label is touching label it won't stick.. maybe it'll be easier with the stainless ones..

Looks like that one uses the same tapes as mine. I use the 1/2" tape Gold on Black. Just about anything on the page linked below will work on a black carto just fine (except for the Black on Clear - lol):

The best length selection for cartos is 1.3" to have them wrap around and overlap.

I have a couple thick foam ones.. and some cheesy looking plastic ones hehe. May come up with something.. never thought of that.. no chance at lead poisoning eh? lol

Happen to have an empty ammo box lying around? I use one for 45 caliber. The outside is skinned with the automotive wood burl from Metro Decals.

I dd find my cheap target tulammo had a decent case.. grey streaks down the side not sure if its from the casing... going to need a good wash.. don't need lead poisoning but yeah the size is perfect for the cartos hehe.

I put Sticky Tack on the bottom to overcome any balance issues.
