this model seems to be a standard production in it's country of origin, as many manufacturers seem to stock the same item, only difference being the company logo on the outside of the EPACK. any cart from a company like flux, or volcano will fit the BLU, as well i would imagine any other generic cart from any company out there. i will confirm companies as i try them, but i am smoking carts from flux on my BLU as i type this.

Yeah, that Flux looks exactly the same. I had posted earlier that I could absolutely see making a easy switch from traditionals to the BLU. My big concern would be getting a steady supply of carts. I don't know if refilling is for me. I guess with any ecig, you learn how to manage your stock since you just can't walk into any convenience store (out here, it's Wawa. Wawa rules!)

Well to throw in another 2 cents and a side story. I mush recreationally. When entering the sport, you have entry level rigs and equipment, and serious/competitive equipment. I bought the entry level and I love it. I wouldn't buy the fancier stuff even if I had the money. I get snarky comments from those who have the fancier stuff about the lack of fanciness in my stuff. My response is always "My dogs don't know or care about the difference, they just love to run"
That's kinda how I feel about my Blu. I like it, it does what I need it to do, and is low fuss for me. I get good vapor, I can charge a dead battery while using a fresh one, and it satisfies my urge to smoke. Beginner or experienced has nothing to do with it for me, it is what you enjoy. I don't care about filling a room with vapor, I care about satisfying my urge to smoke with something a lot less harmful. Just like I don't care about running in the Iditarod, I just want to enjoy exercising with my dogs..strange analogy but the best way I can thing to describe it.

When I ordered mine, about 1-2 weeks ago, they advised a 3 week delay. I got mine within 1 1/2 weeks. No complaints.Got it, love it. The odd thing is that the atomizer/carts which happens to fit my Janty eGo work better with it, and my eGo atomizer works better with the Blu, and actually looks better. For the price, definately not dissapointed.

From the Blu website - Deep Penetration
blu atomizers penetrate the flavor packet to produce consistent vapor, puff after puff.

Note the instructions do not tell you to pierce the seal they just say slide it on. Blu is my first eCig and it has been great although the full nicotine is way more powerful than a real cig. I have smoked a pack of Marlboros per day for about 18 years now. The full flavor Blu gave me a stomach ache and a head rush in two drags. I am going to order light refill carts so that I can take 10 drags per "smoke" without OD'ing on nicotine.

I think because of the crappy instructions that people just don't know how to use the blu. Good vapor, throat hit and great flavor. I haven't tried anything else yet but I plan on switching to only eCigs soon and this will be just fine. Beats the %^&! out of the patch or nic gum.

Hey Synf - It looks to me like Volcano is using the exact same parts as blue. It is the same pack and chargers for sure. The atty and flavor carts looks the same. Do you or does anyone else know if they are compatible? Their refill carts are much cheaper.

Blu's and Volcano's are the same thing. As someone else said in another thread, Both companies get their product from the same manufacturer. All parts and supplies are interchangeable.

I ordered my blu when the site said the black version was on a 3 week back order and i received it exactly 1 week later. I must say after all the bad reviews on this forum i was really nervous about the order because i didnt stumble onto this site until after my card was charged.

After all my reading and pacing and nail chewing thinking i dropped 60 bucks on some garbage i must say, you cant believe everything you read on the internet.

I think the blu starter kit is a great product for the price. i wont go over the large list of things that come in the kit because blu has a whole website dedicated to telling you what you get. I will say that the unit is great and the pcc might be the best part of the deal and makes the short battery life a non-issue.

My only complaint with the blu is the pre-filled carts are both inconsistent and imo, terrible tasting. Of the 5 flavors they send i can only stomach the menthol and cherry and even the menthol is a bit to sweet to vape all day. Seems like i might be alone in this as most people posting here seem to love their flavors. I bought some halo juice and empty carts from volcano (blu doesn't sell empty carts) and i have no need or desire to try another e cig. Halo produces more vape than the stock stuff and the foam mod makes the vapor production much more consistent.

Hope this helps to counter a bit of the bad press on this site for a pretty good product =)

I can't post a thread because I don't have 10 posts, but thought I would post a review of the blu

My first e-cig was a blu, and when I first got the kit I was pretty amazed at the whole marketing and concept of an e-cig. I knew nothing of how e-cigs worked, atomizers, carts, anything. I quit analog cigs the very next day my blu kit arrived (December 28, 2009). Most people hate the blu’s for various reasons, I can sympathize with them, I also had the same problems everybody else was having, slow delivery times, non-existent customer service, crap carts poor battery life, etc. But, I did quit real cigs. After reading on the forum later, I asked some people about the problems I was having, and most people said get a Joye 510, and so I did, and I really love it. But with all the quirks of the blu, I still like it once I finally discovered how to get it to really work.

There were some things that blu made that could have been awesome if they had only tested it further and went the extra mile to make it work. The cig “pack” they have is cool that has the charger built in, although I lost an atomizer in it the first day by placing it where the battery was supposed to go in.

The good things about the blu are the following: The USB charger is fantastic; I know other e-cigs have them, but at the time I thought this was the coolest thing. The size of the cig is perfect, very light weight (can even smoke hands free). I thought the carts were great, but as everyone knows, you have to tweak them to even get them to last half the stated length on the website (1 cart equals 7 cigarettes?!!—very misleading), the “cig pack, is very cool, the cart pack packaging was a great marketing idea. The flavors are fantastic with vanilla being my personal favorite flavor even to this day. Also, none of the 4 atomizers and 3 batteries I bought from blu have gone out, after almost 2 months of really heavy use and abuse.

The bad things are the following: Carts do not work, even when you ‘tweak them’, they do not work like they were intended. The battery life is short. The customer service is bad. The delivery time is way too long.

However, I tweaked with the cig and did everything that people recommended on here to do, and I think this is the point where most people give up and made up their overall opinion on the blu, which the verdict is that it pretty much is a bad choice. However, I found that once I bought a TON of different juices for my 510, I started “dipping” the blu atomizer into the juice. That not only make juices taste better, but huge clouds of vapor were coming out of the thing! And it lasted a long time; way way longer than filling the wick cart up, or twisting, taking the foil off etc. The 510, I think, actually heats up the fluid to a much higher temperature and may actually make some of the juices taste unpleasant. Whereas, the blu has a much lower operating temperature and the taste produced is excellent. I have read you have to be careful about not completely saturating the atomizer, and I don’t. I just use an old cart with the little plastic wick container and dip the atomizer into my juice of choice in a contact lens case, and all the problems have been solved. I only wish I could get some of the blu cart flavors in juice form. Most of these recommendations came from people on this forum, and I thank you guys for sharing this info, just wanted to post my evaluation of this and the methods to make it work. I was about ready to chuck the whole thing in the trash. Sorry for the long post. TB

My first e-cig is an RN4081. It's decent but I blew thru attys fast with it. I ordered a buttload of replacements from China. They actually are better than the one I had!

My second e-cig is a Blu. LOVE IT. I guess they've worked out their shipping issues. Now that we are past the holiday season, I got it in 6 days, including the weekend.

The ONLY design flaw I can share that will help ALOT of you that feel like the atty sucks is this: When you poke thru the foil that covers the reservoir in the cartridge, a small bit of the foil sticks to the top of the atty. A quick "fix" is to poke thru the foil first before setting the cart on the atty. Actually I just remove the foil totally and the vapor cloud is HUGE. If you need to remove the bit of foil from your atty, just take a needle and pry it off and the atty is now good as new and will function properly.

I have a black one. Size is nice. Fits in my hand. The recharge technology is just cool and the case fits perfectly in the cell phone pocket in my bag. (c:

I've refilled the one cart I've used several times with no prob. I have only used cherry and it was "interesting" -- like dessert (and it's great with a glass of wine). But I've refilled it since with vanilla juice I had on hand.

Sooooo, as with everything, there is a learning curve and once you get used to how it functions, and are "good" with that, you will probably like it. My RN4081 had a learning curve too, and I guess I like it too, but now it's my "spare" that I keep at home or take to bars, cuz I don't want to lose my Blu.

Okay, so i got my Blu yesterday. My initial reaction to it: whoa!

the pack for it is pretty sweet, i also like the USB charger for it. its all very compact and the packing is very trendy and cool looking. but the big thing is how this little devil performs.

major taste! the menthol flavor taste SO friggin much like a camel crush (my old brand) the ease of draw is amazing. i know people are complaining about how sensitive it is (its very sensitive) but it makes the draw super awesome, you barely inhale and it hits you.

the throat hit is very nice, better than my pilot when it was new (ive had it since march and its working, just not very well, time for new hardware) but to really let it HIT you gotta take a somewhat longer drag, no biggie.

vapor production is awesome. its the same amount of vapor that an analog would produce in smoke.

The atomizer is huge, lol. very pointy, cos it breaks thru the seal in the carts. the band between the battery and the atomizer has four holes, looks like the pilot in that sense, but it also has 2 holes on the atomizer where it screws into the batt. i dont know if thats making the difference or what, but i noticed it.

Its pretty small, the smallest ive tried. its smaller than the mini fogger or the pilot with the short battery.

The pack is genius! I have a tendency of misplacing my e cig (never for very long ;)) and now its just like keeping up with a pack of ciggys. alot easier. everything fits perfectly and you can still store a fully charged battery in the charging slot, just dont screw it in (the case still closes)

Now, comparing it to the m401/402, the 901, and the janty mini fogger... i like the blu better. As far as throat hit, ease of draw, and taste. especially taste. It definitely feels the most like an analog. the pilot laks in the flavor department, and the 901 lacks in the throat hit, the mini fogger is some where in between. but the Blu, in my humble opinion, blows them outta the water.

The battery life is pretty average (1-2 hours heavy vaping), the cart life is pretty good too, i was vaping away last night and its still the same cart this morning and going strong. im kinda antsy to try the other flavor carts i got. i got the java jolt and the vivid vanilla along with the magnificent menthol (its pretty damn magnificent)

My only real complaint is that its sound/wind sensitive. i was hoping it wouldn't be. my pilot is, and i cant go to concerts with it. i was hoping to go out to loud places with this thing, but i dont think thats gonna be any different.

All in all i would def. recommend this to anyone. a newbie or a seasoned vaper.

Its got a year warranty, 30 day money back, and its only 59 bucks. if your thinking about the blu, go ahead and go for it, theyre probably still backed up so youll be in for a wait at the moment... but its worth it.

Later days,

Ro

I recieved my blu today and am absolutely pleased with it. as u said the packaging and everything is great, flavors are good, and i too would recommend this to anyone wanting to give e cigs a try!

I just ordered the Volcano, which is supposed to be the same cig as the blu, except that the pre-filled carts are supposed to be bigger (more volume for liquid) and they also offer blank carts to fill your own juice. As I said in my previous post, once you get the thing working, the blu is a really good e-cig. I wish that blu would at least come out with a statement that they are working on a new design for the pre-filled carts. Then it would be a great product for the folks that don't want to mess with filling the old carts up with juice. Looks to me though, they are just pocketing the money that they made from all the advertising and are not really making any effort to improve anything. As of note, all parts from the volcano are interchangeable with the blu, and I've heard that shipping is 2-3 days!

The blu carts ARE terrible. They don't even come close to what it could do if you DIY your own carts and order different juices. I felt the same way to at first, but after reading this site for a while and actually ordering come different menthol flavors...it's all been good. I've had nothing but the blu and it's the first ecig I've ever bought. I can remember getting it last month, charging the batteries and then trying the tobacco cart. Then stopped and said how am I ever going to quit smoking, these things suck. But with patience and knowledge, this thing absolutely rocks. You just got to remember that these will never take the place of a analog. never.
