BLU ordered this morning / already shipped...

Hi folks,
I'm new here. This morning I ordered a Blu starter kit and some cartridges and accessories, and they're already shipped with a confirmation number.

I had read in one of the forums about Blu being a long delivery company, with people waiting a month or more for delivery. I expect to receive my order on Monday, August 23rd.

I think employees of competing brands post negative things on this forum site and many others, in attempts to damage the competition.

That's why I ordered Blu despite the negative comments I read about them and their products. Time will tell if that was a good or bad decision.

There is really no need to bash the Blu for any reasons like that here.
The Blu is so unpopular here that it really is no threat to any of the competition.

It won't take you long to figure out that the bad reviews you are hearing are from former users who really did not like the Blu simply because it is quite lacking compared to most other models that you can get.

But you may like it very much, it isn't exactly a piece of junk.

I think most have said that you can get more for your money by ordering a 510 or KR808. I have heard some that order the Blu being happy with them. Just remember that there are many options avail if the Blu does not work out. My first kit was a greensmoke (yes I know but I had not found this fourm yet). Performace was ok most of the time but some cartos gave out after 15 to 20 puffs and the killer was recharging the batteries. Found this fourm and order an ego which has work out.

Good luck with the Blu!

My boyfriend & I both ordered Blu's. That was in May, I don't remember what the delivery time was, couldn't have been any more then 1 week as I remember having in the weekend of 5/15 and I can see the charge on my card on 5/6.

There is not really anything 'wrong' with the Blu. It is all a personal preference. I found that I liked the idea but was unable to get the amount of nic/vapor/TH that analogs gave me. So I used it off and on (mostly off).

I say try it for a week and if your happy great, if not send it back and move on. No harm, no fowl. Everyone has to start somewhere.

Hope you like it!

PS boyfriend now used a 510 and I use an eGo (love them both).

This forum is very helpful and very "neutral" when reviewing products. The reason the Blu gets a bad rap is because it's not the best PV for your money for sure. Why do all the research if you won't believe what you read? The people who talk about the Blu here are usually the ones who ordered it then found out about it. Many of them sent it back and got a refund after they discovered the other options. I hope it works out for you. Anything that can get you off cigs will be a good thing. But you very well may want to upgrade once you get more into vaping. Good luck.

I have a Blu, 510 and an Ego I love them all for different reasons, personally if you are a heavy smoker I don't think you will be happy, but the convenience of it is great with the PCC, just make sure that you refill your own carts, that will give you the best experience with the Blu, if it wasn't for my Blu I would have never quit smoking so good luck!!

The majority of the people selling most of the good and well-liked e-cigs are not part of the company that manufacters them. They get to pick what they sell, and they have no motivation to come here and trash talk the Blu. If they really wanted to sell it, they could (the model is an L88B, I believe - you can buy it generic, for a lot less money).

The reason you see negative reviews is because there really is much better stuff out there. I've tried a Blu. I didn't like it. Thank god I didn't pay for it (a friend lent it to me), because it costs twice as much as my Kr808, which is a better performer, more reliable, and has better battery life.

It's just really overpriced for what it is.

If you want to think I'm a company rep, fine. But surely you can't think that there are literally thousands of cleverly disguised company reps here.

P.S. What is the point of coming to a community like this and researching a product, if you're going to reject all the reviews?

I gotta ask... is it because the Blu is pretty?

Thats one huge reason why I love ECF......they dont let that go down here. The reviews you will find here are by real users, not suppliers or associates.

I had a blu...and I returned it in the 30 day period and got my money back. It sucked monkeyballs. I dont sell ecigs, nor am I owned or paid by any company.

Your more then welcome to give it a shot, but dont doubt the authenticity of the reviews on ECF.

My first was a Volcano which is same as Blu. Great company but not a great unit. Best thing about my purchase was the Volcano company had a link to this forum, otherwise I might not have found it and made better purchases to stay off cigs. I spent 120.00 on it, sold it for much less and got a better PV after the first week. Just my honest opinion, the carts are maddening, very small and if you buy the filled carts like I did, they last about 4 minutes so very expensive in the long run.

To each his/her own, there is a learning curve and I wish you well.

... I ordered Blu despite the negative comments I read about them and their products. ...

    Kind of strange decision...

    1. You are smart enough to go ahead and do wide research BEFORE placing order.
    2. You found this forum and got LOTS of resources for self-education.
    3. You are ordering product which on scale from 10 to 0 would get 1 (on a good day)...
    4. You are posting positive and promoting review BEFORE receiving product and claim that negative reviews are posted by competitors (it's like claiming that negative opinion about Hyundai has been created by employees from Mercedes and Lexus...)

My money on you working for Blue.
Understandable desire to fix negative image, but come on, don't insult our intelligence - don't go so primitive...

Mine is on the pretty-factor. It sucks a lot of people in, and some people care more about that than about the quality of the product.

Why do you think people pay 100 bucks for a t-shirt that's going to come unraveled in a week when they could go somewhere else and buy one that looks almost as nice, but lasts for years, for 10 bucks?

Because the more expensive one is pretty, and probably has a nice brand attached to it.

    Two more things:

    1. New member with 1 post usually does't have avatar, as far as I can see, most of the members get their avatars after 50-100 posts, when they feel like they belong here.

    2. If you haven't noticed, most of the time discussion goes about models, not about companies. You know, like what is better for noob, 510 or 808, or, maybe, noob should skip starters step and go directly to Ego/Riva model... And than someone may recommend good supplier for particular model.
    Who cares about Blue anyway?

    Sorry girl, I disagree.

If someone's forum name is Frosty09 and US Marine Corps on avatar - pretty look wouldn't do the trick...
You can't belong to military or associate yourself with armed fores and take pretty look over functionality, especially after reading member's feedbacks.

Ah, maybe so. Not up on my military jig, man.

Although I don't know... poor buying decisions based on poor criteria and justified with poor reasoning transcends demographics. I'm sure there must be military men who own an iPod (which isn't a bad product per se, but it is more expensive than a lot of the competition, and most people like it for the way it looks and the brand it carries). Same concept.

    I suppose time will tell...

Well…. I appreciate all of the feedback.

Seeing as how this was my first purchase of an e-cig, I may have made a huge blunder. I found this site about 2-hours after I made the purchase.

I was in a rush to rid my home of the cigarette odor and keep it off of my clothing. I was recently diagnosed with severe DVT and neuropathy in both legs and feet. And I have always been an extremely physically active person. Essentially, my blood is too thick and clots too easily in veins and arteries. Both are known to result from or to be exacerbated by heavy cigarette smoking. Doctors told me that my two-pack a day habit was killing me.

    1. Yes, the PCC greatly influenced my decision to purchase the Blu.
    2. Yes, I plan on refilling my own cartridges.
    3. Yes, I will quickly switch brand/model if the Blu proves to be unsatisfactory.
    4. No, “pretty” played no part in my decision.

    Thanks again for the feedback….

    Chiming in on BLU,
I have had mine for almost 1 year and although it does light up Blue it really lacks in the throat hit. Then they changed my menthol flavor to Johnsons Creek and that really sucked. I still use BLU and I still smoke, BLU at work and smoke when I get home. However I now buy Volcano menthol tips which are great. I can not support BLU I am looking into finding a e-cig that can help me stop smoking for good!
@ rosesence what brand are you using? I need something better.
    Thanks

Maybe for the Marines and it seems they would be more interested in a stealth model as well, but I was in the Military and I still like pretty with lots of bling! It's gotta work and be reliable, but that doesn't mean it has to be ugly!
