    Hey everyone,

So I decided to change it up a little. I've been (up until now) either dripping on a bridgeless/wickless 510LR and regular 510 attie, or taking the tank to go.

I did some homework and decided to order a decent quantity of the Boge 510 standard resistance cartomizers. WOW! I can't believe the flavour out of these guys. Very close to drip IMO. I've filled them a couple different ways (as I can't seem to figure out the easiest method) the cleanest method is using the condom fill method, but I've also read that's not good for them.

I have 25 of them (purchased in good faith based on the reports I read throughout the forum). They're certainly cheap enough, and even if they only last the typical 2 weeks (sometimes 3) that's still far better, until I order a Reo :p

Any of you have any tips/tricks for easy mess free filling?

I use the condom fill method with my IKV mega cartomizers. I tried doing it with a syringe, worked ok but the condom method is faster with less fuss I think. I really like these IKV mega LR 808 cartomizers, they hold 2ml of juice and the taste is amazing. I think IKV has the mega's for 510 setups too.

I tried the condom method to, and it is very easy. I haven't heard of IKV personally, but I heard lots of good things about the Boge carto's, so figured I would try them out. For 9.99 a 5 pack, can't really see much bad in that. I would also like to try the clearomizers or the type that have no filler. I find them intriguing, but also sold out anywhere I looked in Canada.

that fine line between convenience and performance. it's like the search for the holy grail of vaping it seems to a newb here ;)

Always! lol, but it's a fun endeavor.. That and spending time reading-up on things in the Mods section lol, I love tinkering!

I use the Boge 2.3 ohm from 3.7v -> 4.2v and they work great for about two hours "for me" and I'm a chronic heavy vaper. I can take it to 4.8v but I have to take short hits and then they don't last long on a fill. Even less at 5v.

I've tried the 1.5 ohm Boge's at 3.2v on an ego, but I don't like the taste and its a pain to keep the filament fed. To me, its also the same with LR atty's that constantly need to be dripped too often.

I use a slightly lighter VG ratio for carto's of 70% as opposed to when I drip of 90%. Well, that's what I shoot for but my DIY is all over the place with add a lil this, add a lil that...... but it always ends up being "a good one" at some point. Compared to when I attempt specific recipes and hate them.

I do prefer the condom method, and it's weird that I can show someone how to do it and it works great, but for some reason when they do it they don't get good results. Like I said... it's weird, unless when "they" do it, they rush it, where I do it as a ritual in the evening and just take my time and let them sit overnight. It works for me.

I completely get the "sit overnight" thing with these. I filled three up this aft with three different flavours. The one I filled and started puffing on, took a bit of primer puffs to get goin, but the ones I filled and let sit for the afternoon were incredible. The flavour just smacked me in the face like a drip would, which is far more powerful when not expecting it. Damn near coughed out my eyes on the first pull!!

The tank is good and convenient, but I'm still in the (shop around, buy a bunch of stuff and find what works for you). Other than carto's, I think the Reo would be a great investment.

Probably my next hardware purchase will be a Reo Mini. 3ml will last me a day no problem.

We really do seem to vape alike. I love Boges at 2.8 ohms and 4-5 volts. Anything higher just burns them and make them unbearable for me. The heat can be a little much without a drip tip though and I like 306's which are pretty hot. The Reo Mini will probably be the feeder I finally cave in and purchase, as I believe it to be more practical than the Ali'i (since the Reo could be ran over by a car and still work).

The Ali'i is nice but it is expensive and made of wood. Nice novelty PV to own and keep around the house though.

The Lrcartos from electrovapers are way better than the lr510 boges. It says it's 1.8 ohms. I just use it on an ego but it's pretty awesome. They have the best flavor of any carto I've tried. Although I've tried the standard boges and enjoyed them, I've never tried them at a higher voltage, as I can't bring myself to fork out the cash to buy a high volt mod. Any one know of an inexpensive 5 v mod?

That's funny, I believe a couple of your posts were in amongst the heavy reading I did on the Boges. And with regards to the Reo, it just seems to work, and work very well. The bottom feed method, I find very interesting. It would be cool to get a small .5ml carto to use with the Reo, that way, one or two pushes of the bottle would fill the carto up and run it for a while. Has anyone used a carto with a bottom feeder? Would kind of act like a condom fill method, but would provide a cheaper alternative to a regular atty.

The Reo's overall build quality seems incredible!

Anyone know what the deal is with the Reo site? It appears as though all models are out of stock... Or is it a build on demand thing?

i treat cartos kinda like an atty.have 5-6 vapes and drip more in.always keeping it wet.soon as it gets a little dry it tastes bad,so i always keep it wet.i usually get 1 week out of my cartos.i am a heavy vapor too.

At the moment, I'm vaping on them for a while at a time. If I receive any fall off of flavour quality, I switch them out for a full one. So far in doing so, I find that it's taking 10-15 drops (condom method) to refill. So they seem to be vaping rather well. I don't want to dry burn them in anyway at all, and certainly don't want to get stuck with a burnt taste I can't get rid of for the rest of the life of the carto. I have zero ambitions on taking them apart to clean, they're too cheap to care that much for IMO.

You should never dry burn a carto. Doing so would render it totally useless. Keep them moist and you will be fine. OTOH if you dry one out and scorch one, it is pretty much toast as you will never rid it of the burnt flavour.

FWIW I do not dry burn anything. Folks at the meet last night saw first hand the dividends of proper care of one's equipment provides, including the performance of a mega eGo atty that has never been cleaned and in service since Aug 2010.

Wow that's been in service for a decent amount of time!! I dry burned once with a 510SR that was gunked up, to see if it would help clean it, it did a bit. But I haven't done it since with any other hardware. Carto's are just to cheap to care about trying to clean IMO. I just puff until the flavour is weak, then swap it out and refill.

The only other atty I've cleaned (aside from 510's) was the Tank atty. And I did it much like you had in your post, quick alcohol bath and soak, blow out and left to dry for the evening. Worked like a charm.
