I did have to change to a small bore drip tip just to slow me down lol I was just killing the juice the hotter vape from the smaller tip slowed me down a bit. best of all no figgin over sqounk this is a driving set up. I want to thank all of you on here because i never would have made a bottom feeder and solved all my vaping problems if this thread wasn't here. :vapor: on people

Hi Folks a couple of weeks ago I had a pm from Laurie, to say he had some "brass bits he could send me" firstly a 5mm brass plate and then some other bits I've yet to use.
So with all props to Laurie for the free brass plate here is the first mod I have made using his care package.

The mod has a Vamo 40 Watt chip, made from Laurie's brass and a battery power pack from Fasttech.
the ugly screws on the from will be changes to countersunk SS allen head screws when they arrive.

The mod is not the most innovative and is a test bed for the vamo chips i bought four of a couple of months ago when i was unable to source any DNA 40s.

The battery and juice bottle are serviced by removing the four screws from the bottom. I had intended to have a quick access system, but ran out of time, I may still go that route, but for now four screws for the life of a 2500Mah LG and a 9ml Vmod bottle works out about once off with the bottom cover every two days.

I know some of you are jealous of my workshop space so I have included a pic at the bottom for you :)

I first saw the idea for this here on ECF and I've been wanting to try and do one one ever since.
Its shaped to suit me and the way I hold the mod.
The button is made from a stainless steel drip tip I had laying around.
If I wasn't having procurement problems with the flat top I'm busy with I would have milled the catch cup off as well (maybe another time).
The basic groove cutting was done on a mill but all the shaping is done by hand with a file and diamond riflers and all hand wet sanded, its really a load of work but I like the result.

poland, and the brassy lands of google
Studio, that looks like my balcony and kitchen for most of today. :) I do like my pillar drill up a bit higher though. I'm going to guess the polishing wheel is on there ALL the time and if you need a hole then you grab the handheld drill, because that mod is beyond shiny!

Studio, that's the kind of shop I feel at home in...a reflection of truly a glacial mind :p

Seeing as everyone is posting hardware lately...here's some pic's of my latest, nothing really noteworthy outside, I just kept it simple as it was really just a platform to test out some ideas.

20150419_095739.jpg20150419_095809.jpg20150419_101301.jpg

The bottom plate has a well drilled in it to hold a spring, which forces the contact up...pretty easy to do if you have a thick enough bottom (and the forethought to drill the hole before you glue the bottom on )...but no more running current through a spring. I added a copper pos. contact for the batt that the switch contact makes contact with, so no more deforming batt. terminals and now I have static contact surfaces for better control...and it's only added about 2mm to the overall height...it also give me a constant batt connection for Ian's indicator (I love those things...10 more please :D)

...I've been metering the batt when the flashes on the indicator change...and it's really consistent and is accurate enough to see voltage sag i.e. if you tap right after a good pull it may flash say 3 times but if you wait a bit and tap, it'll flash 4 as the batt recovers so you also get a good idea of not just batt v but batt health (a new healthy batt shouldn't do that)

5 flashes - 4.2
4 flashes - 4.0
3 flashes - 3.9/3.8
2 flashes - 3.7
1 flash - 3.5

CC this looks great I bet you could make an aluminum Shell for a Gdna, Maybe with a little wood inlay? IMO would be close to my ultimate mod

Almost done with the first one. The second isn't far behind it.

Some really nice work being posted in this thread Love the mini Dibi Captain

Considering this is a non-standard dibie knock off I'll show you a shot next to mine so you can compare the size. The small one I made for my wife is running an 18490 and for those of you who noticed she asked me for as large as possible squonk hole with rounded edges so her delicate fingers don't get hurt from squonking

Of course I need to mention that this design belongs to Peter (pdib on ECF) who makes the original Dibie (Oliver Mod) and is one hell of a woodworker but not only. Peter designed the Nuppin BF atty which you can see on my blue dibie. It's an incredible BF atty with amazing flavor. Despite making several of his beautiful mods (yes I'm obsessed with the dibie) I'm on Peter's list for 2 of his amazing mods. For those of you who aren't familiar with Peter's amazing talent feast your eyes on this

Great too see that stuff going to good use instead of the scrap bin!

Um...........Can I have it back now?
