I've finally had to retire all my innokin gear as the threads stripped on my X.I's and my VTR. I'm currently running an aerotank and a genitank on a provari 2.5 in extended mode for an 18650. But the form factor just isn't doing it for me.

I vape 1.8ohm coils at around 7w (3.4-3.5V) but I vape pretty constantly all day so battery life or ease of battery changing is important. I currently carry 4 AW IMR's with me at all times.

As I've said, I also care about quality, I've lost a lot of gear sue to slowly wearing the threads. Every box I see is advertising itself as 50W-100W for a lot of money. The Radius is tempting but it's £165 before VAT and duties. Any suggestions of something boxy for tootling that has solid threads for around the £75-£100 mark?

I vape mouth to lung as well, and I think the Evic VTC Mini is the best all around small box mod at the moment. My first one was bad, but thankfully the place I got it from swapped it for me.

Now it's working great. Small, great feel (the matte paint just feels nice to hold) and super easy to swap out the 18650's. And the quality seems much higher than most- especially with the updates that they're on top of. It's more wattage than you'll ever need, but now that I've gone 18650, the army of eleaf isticks is slowly retiring.

And just a note on price. It looks like the battery alone is down to $35ish: Joyetech eVic VTC Mini Battery - ecig.com | Electronic Cigarettes

If I were you, I'd wait for the big sales coming up and I bet you could snag one of these for 25-30. Just my hunch. It's been out for just long enough to where I could see it going cheaper.

II've lost a lot of gear sue to slowly wearing the threads.

I guess 510-to-510 connectors have fallen out of fashion, but I always used one and never screwed thing on and off my mod connection. :)

Of course that is a moot point with a quality item, with threads that aren't going to strip. But on a cheap thing like eleaf I jsut put a connector on and let THAT get stripped instead. :)

Something in the price range of a radius is probably the direction you would want to go, because something quality is going to cost a lot. But then add up the number of mods you say have gone belly up.......it's 6 of one 1/2 dozen of another as they say. :)

To be honest though, if you are a true tootle puffer, a radius may be over kill for you. If you vape just to not smoke and don't NEED 40 watts, which you don't if you are vaping at 7 watts!! I'd take a look at some of the items provape has on special right now, the prices are outstanding. Or ou could get a classic and use a 19mm or 22mm tank, etc.

If your threads are stripped, you are probably over tightening your toppers onto your mods. Try a lighter touch. Or get a couple of those:

Airflow controller by SMOK

When installed permanently on your mod, it will protect the threads and stabilize the connection. I use one of those on my iStick 20 and I never remove it.

If you're looking for a simple mod with internal battery, try Innokin Cool Fire 4, iSick 30 or Heatwave Defender 36. If you want a mod with replaceable battery, the Defender 50 and IPV D2 are popular. And Kanger is about to release a Kbox mini platinum.

And if your mods are still working, you may try this simple trick (5:40)

Good luck!
