stopped at 133. Up/down buttons are ridulously difficult to press also...Easiest way to check is without any batteries in the unit, simply plug in the USB cable for power. If you can go up to 200W esauce never configured your unit properly (or at all) if it stops at 133W, then they wired the chip bad/wrong.

so after I install batts and press fire i get a evolve dna200 splash then blank. If I press fir I get an empty batt icon and 'check battery' error. The batts are equally charged going in but I guess I could install and let it charge balance them through usb?!!? sound good??What batteries are you using? How exactly does the error occur? Instantly on power up? When you press the fire button?
Two things you can try - one is to run the Battery Analyzer under Escribe; the other is to show your batteries voltages on the display. Maybe they are not equally charged?

I am guessing it won't even charge via the USB cable. If your batteries are good, the issue most probably is related to the wiring for the balance charging.
i cant see it in escribe. Nothing appears in USB devices either in OSX or in VB...What does device monitor report as the battery voltages before you press the fire button?

on USB with batts in i see the lightning bolt/charge symbol. Im sure the batts are good...I am guessing it won't even charge via the USB cable. If your batteries are good, the issue most probably is related to the wiring for the balance charging.
I fear you are correct...If it's not showing up under System Report under the USB device tree, it sounds like a bad board.

I wouldn't necessary write off the chip as bad. The fact that you get power to the when plugged into the usb port shows the chip and USB port are working fine.
Are you sure you are using a data cable to connect or is it just a charging cable? I'm am still guessing that it was simply wired incorrectly by esauce.
If you don't mind sharing pictures of the inside, i can try to see if anything is obvious. Regardless, sounds like you will need to return it to them either way.
Got it to talk to escribe. For some reason my MBA wasnt seeing any USB devices...reboot sorted it. I can now see that Cell 1 has no voltage regardless of which batt is in there so looks like a solder joint has broken or something. Already arranged a return for a fix! I might have a quick look tomorrow and I'll post if there is anything interesting going on..
Cheers
ps. Alex at esauce said it was tested before shipping so either Im an idiot (likely) or something came loose in transit (also possible).
