Boxer Mod 200W with Evolv DNA200 Temperature Control

So I asked about my Boxer DNA133 shipping today and got this response:

"The enclosures are due in today with confirmed UPS tracking. However, we are waiting for one part to arrive so that we can determine the best possible wiring option for the balance charging. We don’t want to penalize the early orderers and make a change for the better just days after it’s release.
We should have this part on Saturday and assembly and shipping will begin then."

While I am happy they are getting everything just right before shipping they could have changed the expected date of shipping on their website. That also raises questions about the wiring options. Does that raise a red flag for anyone? I'm not technically savvy enough to read into that.

Me dunno, if it were me, I wouldn't be concerned. Just angsty to get my mod.

The balance port needs to be wired properly. Slot one needs to go to the + 18650 that's on the negative side, 2 needs to go to the + 18650 on the positive side. 3 needs to be bridged with two. If any of this is off, including the order, the dna200 will not work and will show no battery on the screen. I know this from experience.

Anyone receive shipping confirmation yet on their DNA133 Boxer? I ordered September 5th (or 4th, have to check) and have not heard anything, although they did say they were starting to build them on Saturday.

There are people who buy stuff just to play with it, then sell it within a few days. Seen it before with all sorts of mods and attys. Could be a flipper, but not a smart one, as GV seems to meet demand for its mods in a reasonable amount of time.

Argh...does it say if Mikevapes paid for those units?

I suppose the glass half full perspective is that I can hope mine will ship tomorrow unless there were really that many people that pre-ordered.

Not that I really enjoy watching the Vapor Chronicles, but in the most recent upload Mike Vapes uses his 200W and 133W Boxer throughout. At around the 42:00 minute mark, he does talk about the mods a little bit.

In UK they are only available from esauce afaik, £179 + 13.99 for alumlyon. The ebay device, with international shipping comes out cheaper!

edit: looks like there is a customns charge of $60 also so not such a great deal maybe!

Remember to factor in the cost of of not having a warranty either, which itself is probably worth about $30~40 for this particular mod. Also, there's no indication whether this is a DIY kit or done with professional labor (worth $25).

So even if you buy it at his or her minimum price of $200, it's overpriced in my opinion, especially if it turns out to by shoddily put together DIY kit.

yeah I agree absolutely. I also forgot about the diy angle. The diy 200's arent available here at the moment, only the 133 for some reason..

No idea why, but then I really don't get why anyone would want to solder the DNA 200 themselves if they can avoid it. The DNA 200 is probably the most time-consuming/difficult chip on the market to solder, so I was more than happy to spend a little more for professional labor and a warranty. I'll save my soldering efforts for other fun stuff instead.

Certainly well beyond my limited experience and skill. Really looking forward to this one as my first DNA200 mod! God knows when I'll get it though...patience is not one of my (very few) strong points...

Technically, you're getting a DNA133 mod, no?

Personally, I think that's the best choice if you're doing mostly single coil stuff like me. My LiPo Boxer spends a lot of time tethered to a USB cable to recharge, whereas my dual 18650 sx350j Boxer easily lasts a lot longer and battery swaps are easy-peasy.

My DNA133 was ordered September 4th and I was told that it should go out sometime this week so hopefully that should not be too long a wait for anyone. The building/shipping has already been going (as indicated by Mike Vapes of course receiving a unit first). The person I was speaking with by email could not give me an approximate "place in line" based on my order number or date.
