About 70 percent of the patients are male, 79 percent are younger than 35 and 86 percent say that they have vaped THC.

The other 14 percent are lying. One was caught after interviews with his friends revealed that he had used the same THC cartridges they had.

THIS is my biggest issue with marijuana users being welcomed here on these forums.

I would say that their allegiance is divided but that implies both loyalty and parity between THC and vaping in the minds of certain members.

It's been made abundantly clear that the vast majority of THC users are loyal only to weed and their need to get high.

They could care less about the rest of the vaping community or our struggles.....and that is perfectly illustrated by the 14 percent who are willing to throw vapers under the bus and not come clean about their use of black market THC cartridges.

With "friends" like that who needs enemies?

All this did was confirm what everybody already knew for a long time.

(wax figure looking reporter talking) CNN has now confirmed that it was indeed charlie mansion who dubiously murdered 22 innocent victims with his thc tainted e-cig cartridges".
(other wax figure looking reporter chimes in) "thanks ken, our suspicions have indeed been confirmed however this only scratches the surface of the real issue and that is the millions future victims who prefer to continue to use e-cigarettes despite the dangers".
(first reporter) "you are so right steve, and just think of all those school age children who face a lifetime of a horrible addiction to nicotine and we all know that down the road that leads to opioid abuse, heroine abuse, unwanted pregnancies, disease and other unimaginable consequences"
(second reporter) "so true ken and so tragic, coming up next how plastic straws are literally killing the planet"……

The "Truth" shall set you "free"...
In this case, the "truth" (what anyone with any actual experience, knowledge and/or a modicum of common-sense has already easily deduced) is a definite reprieve and momentary commutation of sorts.
However,,, remember and make no mistake regarding what this is TRULY all about concerning the primary Agenda here; Control & Extortion. NOT Banning/Prohibition.
It's ALL about the Money to be confiscated (disproportionate Taxation) and the Control to be seized and waged (heavy-handed self-serving Regulation).

Governments/Politicians ARE the original "Mafia" and in most cases, equally as pernicious.
They absolutely love, worship, and nurture "Sin" (in general & biblical context) and the Acts/Products/Purveyance thereof. A greater money & power maker than any other tangible or intangible entity or concept at their avail.
Alcohol? Been there-done that-learned their lesson
Gambling?
"Drugs"? (see Alcohol above) fastly incrementally moving toward.... (Opiod "Epidemic" anyone???)
Tobacco/Smoking/Dipping/Chewing?
and the List of examples goes on and on and on from the beginning of time to infinity. History & the extrapolation of such proves beyond any doubt.

Of course before any "Beloved & Benevolent" Leaders & Institutions can seize such Control & Assets from its People,,, they must first convince their Marks to give it voluntarily (proclaim & paint "it" as Evil for the overall Good & Safety of them & especially "the Children" of course) or involuntarily/an "Offer we asn't refuse" (either pay-up and cede freedom of choice & control or we will rip it ALL away from you).

The End-Game of their Scheme IS near.
BUT,,, it is NOT to Ban/Prohibit.
They want That Money. Money buys Power & Power brings Money. The unholy Governmental "Yen/Yang" b@st@rdization....

That being said and true, I do realize that there are those persons and Factions that do indeed wish to Ban Vaping (et al). However, same as them, there are those who wish to Ban smoking/tobacco, drinking/alcohol, drugs, opiods, cell phones in cars, gambling, etc. How's that working out? Does it, other than very rarely, EVER come to fruition (again, see the Prohibition folly).
For every one of "Them", there is one of "Us". The two extremes of anything always cancel each other out rendering both moot with the exception of giving rise to and fueling the "middle" to benefit, profit, and become more powerful at the expense of the two (ie. War).
They (the Gubmint), as a whole and individually play to, placate, and patronize (although there are some as zealous as those on both extremes of the argument same as the "Them & Us" on every issue) to appease, quell & squelch the Out-Cry & Outrage from becoming true Unrest & Uprising. Regardless and inconsequentially, it NEVER alters or dissuades from the Real & True Agenda: Nuture & Foster the Ideal/Action in order to Regulate & Taxate.

But, I'm just a cynical, paranoid, and hateful ol' no-count beat-down Fool so,,, probably ALL wrong.

For Today (all anyone really has for sure anyways), Let's Vape On & Enjoy

Very disappointed that the local news coverage STILL has not one mention of THC. Just that e-cigarette liquid adulterated with Vitamin E is the cause! :-x
This is what makes me so angry. My local news - every station - breathlessly reported about the “DANGERS OF VAPING” every newscast for weeks but I doubt I will be seeing the CDC info reported in the same regard; perhaps there may be one report tucked away in a third segment. It’s just not as “exciting” now and we know the local news loves a body count. I hope I’m wrong.

So basically it took them two months longer than us to come up with the obvious conclusion. Sounds about right.
Exactly! I'm so angry, too. A couple of weeks ago I submitted a letter to them and mentioned that oils and sugars should never be inhaled into the lungs, Vitamin E oil in particular which had already been identified in the THC cartridges. My basic message to them was, "Why is it taking you so long?"

This only fortified my thinking all along about the FDA and other government agencies controlling what goes into our bodies. Are you old enough to remember "Eat eggs, don't eat eggs, eat eggs, don't eat the yolk.......". It's all about financial profit and they can stick it where the sun don't shine. And they should stick to the job they were originally intended for, making sure our food isn't poisonous in some way. Of course it's more complicated than that and if you're up for a long read:

Where Did the FDA Come From, And What Does It Do? | Science | Smithsonian

If you do read I'd like to hear your thoughts on maggots as being an FDA approved medical device (2004). They did save my friend's cat from deadly infection but I'm not sure I want them on MY body intentionally.

The CDC, also a government agency, proclaimed that this vaping epidemic case was out of their wheelhouse but would do their best.

On Twitter nearly every single :censored: news org is tweeting this out. Great news, and I’m glad it is coming out, but is the damage done? I’m so mad my brain
I'm with you:evil:I live in MA and watched firsthand our vape shop owners, families and employees be destroyed by our governor's all encompassing vape ban. My coworker asked if I could be pulled over and arrested if seen vaping in my car! For a second I imagined my mods being confiscated. "From my cold dead hands!"

The FDA announced nearly a month earlier that the illnesses and deaths could be attributed to Vit E acetate in black market THC. Why did it take the CDC so long to come to the same conclusion?
Thank you. I stated somewhere above that I wrote the CDC a letter basically asking them what's taking so long? My guess is that the FDA said "could" be attributed....... The CDC had to turn that "could" into scientific/forensic proof. But that's the logical conclusion.

I'm enraged about the lying. However, there's no surprise about the teens lying. Anyone with common sense should have taken that into consideration. In a perfect world the parents would have explained how important it was to tell the truth and they wouldn't be punished for it.

When the public finally learns and accepts the truth about vaping, vaping will be vindicated. Vaping was never designed for recreational use by non-smokers. It was designed to help people quit smoking. Many of us realized the dangers of smoking and quit the habit by switching to vaping.

I know I'm just stating the obvious, but the concept has to get to the masses somehow. I was a hardcore smoker who didn't want to quit. That makes me one who has switched and will likely live a long(er) life from doing so. For some of us who couldn't quit cold turkey or with quit smoking aids, vaping was a life saving method that worked. I'll probably vape the rest of my life.

The timing is fortuitous if any bans will remain in the “e cig/cigalike “ convenience store market and an age raised to 21 is the extent of what to expect, but we still have until next week for this to be clarified.

Besides, we still have May to look forward to as whatever that will bring. This might be a last minute reprieve before the Supreme Court rejects our appeal of our death sentence. We’re just dead a little later.

Hopefully it does build in more time for the ongoing stockpiling up to the very last moment. I feel terrible for Vape shop owners. Are you out of business next week, in six months, it maybe longer. Great way to plan your life.
Hi Eskie:)I had a discussion with my favorite convenience store owner yesterday about the menthol Cigarette ban in MA. He still had menthol tobacco products on his shelves, cigs, bags of tobacco, chewing tobacco...but he said that meetings were going on at The Hill (The State House on Beacon Hill, where all our politicians live and work). Menthol cigs are 35-40% of convenience store sales. The state will lose $300,000,000 in taxes. Does it make you wonder why a governor would forfeit all that dough?

Generalize much?
I guess you find it particularly ironic that most of us here know the publication that really broke this story in September was a stoner magazine, huh? This was actually the best journalism I've seen on the issue. Ignore the name of the link- the story is "Journey of a Tainted Vape Cartridge."

I completely agree. I started smoking at a very young age because it was cool. Even then I knew it was dangerous but Ivwas youngvand invincible. Then it got to the point I enjoyed smoking. My son showed me vaping and actually bought me my first setup. I quit smoking and now I enjoy vaping. I'm to the point now I use very little nicotine and quite often use 0nic. Vaping can save lives but it will be a cost in dollars to the governments.

Sure it started out as a quit smoking system. But at some point it did become a cool thing, first for trendy 20 somethings, and then for teens. Wish it hadn't happened, but we have to deal with the consequences.

The bottom line is it would be better for people especially teens to NOT smoke or vape but if they are going to I would rather see people vape than to see them smoke.
