AltSmoke has some Twists and Spinners in stock. 1300 Spinner (his brand - I have two Vision Spinners and one of his, same battery). You could get two 1300 for about $50. Spinner is easier to read and adjust :) Sounds like you don't need the rest of a "kit"

My DH has a pretty high rate of breaking Twists by dropping them. They either separate and break wires or the buttons get stuck. The Spinners have lasted through more drops than the Twists did.

I have two Infinity Pros. They are much tougher than the Twist and Spinners. They are only a little bit bigger than the eGo batteries and have a long established great track record for the VV chip.

Infinity

I've also had it's big bother the Buzz Pro for over a year. I got rid of my way high priced tube mods because they were too heavy and big.

BTW... these are made in US so support right on our doorstep.

I bought an 1100 Twist and right out of the box the button would stick in the on position as if I were still holding it. I'm never buying another Joyetech device because the non-VV ones I bought last year are still serving a friend just fine today. So the quality control *cough*, such as it is, has gone down.

I'm going to go with a 1300 Spinner if I can find one cheap, since the button issue with the Twist is extremely common. You might also look into the XL3 or XL4 mods at discountvapers. They take an 18650 battery so last much longer. The XL4 is unregulated but the XL3 has similar functionality to that x6 VV device from MFS that seems sold out currently. Good luck.

not sure what you mean by that...

Thank you... that's very kind. :)

So thank you everyone.. lots of great suggestions here.. I'm checking out all the links and I'll let you know what I ultimately get. Those vision spinners looks nice.. as does the vamo. Decisions.. Decisions...
I didn't realize that the Egos were so prone to breaking. And they start losing their charge after 9 mos to a year? Hmm... I feel like I need to get something that uses those replaceable batteries.. something dangerously like... a mod. Who was it that placed the bet on me that I'd end up with a Provari by May? They might win their bet...

You won't regret the Provari. It's sturdy like a tank.....

I was trying to figure out what he meant as well :p[/QUOTE]

Err i think he meant that she's out on a rock ledge there and seems somewhat adventurous. You know...a daredevil type who can break an Ego pretty easily. I doubt he meant any offense.

OP

a mod is certainly a worthwhile investment...a silver bullet or the Legacy by pure smoker are both mechanical mods that are built rock solid...i dont think you could break them if you tried...well unless you owned either a band saw or a blow torch

I have several of those but still keep some twists on hand...the main reason being they are small and have a go anywhere form factor to them...i think i read above you have a 150$ budget?

If that's true you can get a Legacy for about 100$ i think the kit is...and a twist also

Good afternoon Vapers,

So, either I'm the clumsiest vaper around, or I just have bad luck.

I've only been vaping for a month or so and I've broken one ego and the replacement shorts out when I attach a cartomiser. I'm already on to my third which is going OK. I've purchased my first mod (waiting for delivery) so hopefully the two will keep me going for a while

don't waste your money. either go mechanical, or the vision spinners seem to be having good success for my co workers. i work in an electronics unfriendly environment. my Omega takes a licking and keeps on ticking. my Vamo is another sturdy V/V unit. lots of choices out there. the e-go's fall into the category of starter kits. time to move up if you have managed to make the switch.

Good afternoon Vapers,

So, either I'm the clumsiest vaper around, or I just have bad luck. I just bought my first setup two weeks ago. I got a 1000Mah Ego Twist and a 650 Mah Ego Twist with some vision clearos and carts. The 650 Mah ego dropped, landed on the corner of the dial and bent so that I can only twist up to about 4.2. Still works, so I thought - I'll rebuy that one and keep this as a backup spare. Well today, I have no idea what happened but when I went to use my 1000 Mah twist, the button was jammed. I fiddled and fiddled but I cannot get this thing to work again. Useless. So now after three weeks, I'm down to just the bent 650 Mah which has to stay low in voltage but at least still works.

I loved the ego twists. I thought they worked well and looked very sleek as well. I had no complaints with their operation. Just didn't expect to have to be buying more batteries so soon.

I can't buy anything till Monday (payday) and to re-buy the two twists will cost about 60 bucks. Should I just rebuy the Ego Twists since they were working well for me? Or is there something better I should get with the money? My budget is 150 for batts, replacement atomizer heads, clearos or tanks, & juice.

Thanks in advance for any advice you can give me. I hate the fact that I have to start from scratch only three weeks after I started.. I'm _really trying_ not to go outside right now and have an analog from stress over this.

Go to Yelp and type in Vape Shop
I bet you'll find a shop to go to and buy more equipment immediately.

What kind of Twist are you using. The Joyetech Brand has a reputation for being more durable.
It's a little pricier though.

You might check into the Itaste MVP if you don't mind a box shape.
My box mods just about never drop because they are more stable and they don't roll.

I go with a couple of these. eGo Variable Voltage 1100mAh Battery - Stainless w/Rubber Button
Or any of the others up a page from there. Can't beat the price. Excellent service fast shipping.

A lot of people have recommended the Vamo. Including me. It is a fairly sturdy mod, but you should be aware that several people, including myself, have managed to break them and some people have had them just stop working. With that in mind, for the money, the Vamo is still the best low priced variable voltage mod out there. They take both 18350 or 18650 batteries. The best place to get your batteries and charger from will be RTD Vapors. They have the best quality, service, and prices on batteries and chargers out there.
Battery Chargers : TrustFire TR-003P4 This is not the best charger out there, (that would be Pila) but this is a good charger and it won't break the bank. Many vapors use this charger.
AW IMR 18650 2000 mAh
Batteries : AW IMR 18350 3.7V 700mAh
These are links to the two batteries you should use with this kind of a mod.

Hi Jen,

Do you, um, drop things often? :D

If you do then Twists and Spinners might not be for you since they are pretty flimsy. And for the price of 2 Twists you can easily get a VAMO, which would be a big step up. It uses replaceable batteries so you dont have to replace the entire unit when the batt dies.

For extreme durability, a Provari is probably number two, behind mechs. As much as i am against getting Provaries since they are so expensive and dont offer much improvement in vape quality, if you can afford it and have butter fingers they really are good.

I refrain from suggesting mechs, since you dont seem to be willing to deal with rebuilding stuff yet :D
