Dropped my Vamo today from about 2 ft. Busted one of the adjustment buttons. I didn't expect this at all... so...

I ordered a Provari. Not what I was wanting to spend but I'm tired of buying mods. I hope that with what everyone has said about this mod that it will be, potentially, the last one I buy, at least for a good long while.

I was just starting to get ahead of the buying curve vs reg cigarettes. Well that's out the window now. Got a satin mini with blue LED on the way. Thankfully the charger and batteries from the Vamo will fit.

I don't really want a ton of mods, or the latest new thing, Just something that lasts. In defense of the poor Vamo it was built pretty well truth be told, I just happened to have it land in such a fashion that it broke the little PCB switch on the inside. Probably a 1/1000 chance. Lucky me

Doh! Sorry to hear that. I've had my Vamo for a month now and all I can say is that it feels 100x tougher than my evic which is probably not saying much. I am also on the fence about buying a Provari but I would find the 1 button menu system to be annoying after being spoiled w/ the Vamo and Evic menu system but that is just me.

But the vamo to me is so ugly. The provari is so sexy. I thought the same as you with one button. After 3 days I am sold. You get used to it and its easy.

I am worried about that as well, although the Provari will save settings between battery swaps, so that's nice.

Seriously though after having it apart, the Vamo is pretty tough in build except for the protruding buttons for the settings. Jam one of those up the wrong way and you can break that micro switch underneath it. It may feel totally tough but those switches are fragile.

*edit* by the way, "I bent my wookie!" is my all time favorite Ralphism.

^^ I was deciding b/w a vamo and a provari and people kept saying that the provari is really well built so I went with that. I'm glad I did after reading this. I've already dropped it more than 10 times since I got it 3 weeks ago. Sure I busted the cheapo tanks but the provari still works ^__^ Might think about getting a clear wrap though since you got a blue one.

Satin finish.. blue LEDs. Had to pop an extra 15 bucks for that, but I only want to order it once so I got what I wanted first time 'round. Now I just have to stalk the mailbox for it.

he got the satin with blue LED miss R2 =D

but for anyone else who got a colored provari, the paint or finish does come off rather easily so those that have a colored provari may want to take he advice =D

I agree w/ everything you said above except for the Vamo being ugly. I have the black chrome Vamo w/ black carbon fiber wrap on it. Only the collar and battery cover are still black chrome. The wife has a SS one w/ a white carbon fiber wrap. If you still think it's ugly that is ok :) I just wanted to point out that I actually do like the way it looks (with the wraps). Sorry for the crap picture quality.

I agree. About the only think I don't like about the Provari is the look (well, and price). I think the Vamo looks awesome.

The textured skins are awsome... vaporskinz caries a mambo (snakeskin) textured and jwraps carries a ostrich leather textured. I have the ostrich leather on my vamo and it is great, really love the extra grip and it looks classy. I'm probably going to get the mambo for the zmax telescope I'm ording this week.

I've looked at getting just the vinyl and making one myself but I don't have camps and things I need to make good straight cutting guides. I did find an awsome looking boa vinyl that makes me consider wanting to cut one myself..
