Personally I don't care for dual coil build at all. Double the materials, double the effort, double the juice consumption, and half the battery life as compared to a single coil build using the same coil. Not to mention, as pointed out earlier in this thread the coils will not be lined up with the drip tip, so you will be "dripping" into the juice well and feeding the coils exclusively through the wicks. At that point you may as well be using a RTA and not worrying about dripping, because there is no difference. :2c:

Dude... and I mean no offense by this, but uh, do you have ADHD perhaps? A mood disorder? IDK, I've just never seen such a quick reversal concerning an atomizer, then nearly throwing it in the trash???

Confusion. I mean, I get getting frustrated by a build but BELIEVE YOU ME, WOW. You're almost talking me out of getting the Layercake, I was THIS CLOSE only my bank account was stopping me.

LOL, if it's hard to build that's probably good information for THIS builder with fine motor tremor because seriously there have been times I have been THIS CLOSE to throwing a pie in the trash, because it was just THAT HARD to wrap it properly in tinfoil.

Oh well, I have both, I think I might recognize the symptoms but it's yoga time, so go easy on me @Ephraim Cooper . But, I knew there was a reason I secretly liked you.

LOL, also: CLONES ARE FOR THIS REASON TRY A CLONE (Lostronaut) then support the maker by buying an original if a) you like it b) you don't want to throw it in the trash when you build it c) when you remember to do it.

Good times.

You can get coils that are close to the center. I have the Pyro RDTA which has the coils lined up close to the center. I'm sure there are dual coil RDAs that has this as well. Even though I have my Pyro RDTA, I also love single coil RDAs.

There are a lot of attys that use Velicity style decks. They are one of my favorite types. The Voopoo Demon is one that is cheap and decent. It is built for squonking but is a top fill. If you use it for squonking be careful not to oversquonk because the extra juice won't be sucked back down.

Even if you can get the coils close enough to actually drip on, there is still my issue with "Double the materials, double the effort, double the juice consumption, and half the battery life".
All excellent reasons for YOU to continue using single coil stuff. I'm confident the dual coil folks have come to the conclusion that the additional effort, materials and juice combined with the sacrifice in battery life is worth the pay off.

The Layercake is awesome but if u have trouble building its not for u. U have to get both coils just right at the same time and try to manage to screw down one screw while holding it all together. Then it doesnt tighten all the way and if u dont do it just right ull have a loose wire. If u have a tremor u dont want this rda unless u have someone else to build it for u. It is very difficult to build on. But once its built ull love it.

I only vape at home so battery life doesnt bother me. I have 3 sets. But it wud be nice to use less juice. Do u still get big clouds? I love cloud chasing.

A single coil setup doesn't necessarily always consume less juice and battery life. Meet the 30mm Deathtrap RDA.

You can't produce huge clouds without consuming huge quantities of juice. Where do you think the vapor comes from in the first place? E-liquid.

You probably won't win any cloud comps with a single coil but I can make clouds big enough that I have to turn my head to exhale when driving or watching TV or it will obstruct my view.
