Does anybody know where I can get a charging board that outputs 1000 ma instead of the 500 ma that I got from Evolve. I have found several but they're all too big. I need one that's approximately the same size. I am building a duel 18650 parallel build and the 500 mah charger would take to long to charge it. Thanks in advance guys.

Looking for something new that I like. Watch this space for new wit, halfwit, nitwit...

Nice! How do you like the silver color for the case?

The silver is nice, I like the green one best. I'm pretty impressed with the finish of the fasttech enclosure's. They do not hold finger prints, they don't scratch easy and have a good texture for some grip. No wraps needed!

Yeah. I got the blue one initially and then ordered a red and a green one too. The finish is really nice but I think I like it colored much more. I would love the orange one tbh.

Here is the link to the 1A charger from YiHi at Varitube that rhelton mentioned. Sx350 USB replacement Board

I tried a quick search for the dimensions, but came up blank. I have had a couple of Morgan and cokes though so I may have missed it. :toast:

OK, finally found this thread. I had been hearing rumors of such a thread but SJ linked it for me last night in my co-op thread…

Hey, there ya are :) I got your PM about beta testing the DNA40 cradle, but please read my response below first.

sanjosse well i found some issues with the revised cradle i'll pm you the details but also post up a few pics of the build

dougward1960, I've read your PM about the fitting issue, and I've made the adjustment to the cradle and uploaded the revised file to shapeways.com. Here's what was adjusted; I've increased the groove height on the side nubs by almost .5mm. Once I receive my prototype cradle (11/28), I'll confirm the fit then release the cradle for sale.

Not to make excuses, but unfortunately I was led to believe that the DNA40 (without the mounting side tabs) would be identical to the DNA30 board. Live and learn, right?

Thank You so much for beta testing it, and PMin me your finding, I really appreciate :)

There are lots of 1A chargers out there but they are all twice the size, I have yet to see one as small as the 500mA Evolv one, thats the main advantage of the Evolv unit - its so small.

I use a bunch of these, but it pays to reinforce the USB connector with a little epoxy along the 3 outside edges, as the USB connector breaks off easily otherwise.

So I got a few Dna30's for some other mod I wanted to build and as I was assembling my parts, the DNA40 came out.
So I ordered some of them and was left with a few DNA30's with no place to go. I ordered 2 more enclosures and Built these now I have 3 :)
For a grand total investment of about 80 bucks you really can't go wrong with this setup :)

Why is it so hard to find small panel mounted push button switches?
... I'm having a hard time find anything under 12mm! (Which will be the size of my fire button probably)
...Looking for flush, flat, preferably not raised panel mounted momentary/tactical switches for my up and down buttons
... I'm willing to compromises being that I can't seem to find any 4mm, 6mm and even 8mm panel mounted switches for sale... But I would really like to tap and nut on some up/downs rather than gluing them in :/
    Any suggestions?
...smaller the better...shorter the back end the better (pressed for space)... Not shipped from China preferred (being that i would be nice to receive them sometime this year)

I second both the question and the priorities. Anyone have any suggestions at all? Do we need to design and make our own? (Crowd-sourced switches? In in this case, the ECF crowd. :)

madvapes has a ton of different buttons. I guess your not keen on the hana style buttons. I wasnt either till I used some on my dna for the up/down, they are pretty nice and fit snug. I did epoxy them but really didnt need too. I get parts form Mouser too I think they probably have 3000 diff ones to look thru.

So another "first world problem" here. As I wrote I finally succeeded in gluing things together. The magnetic door works. The problem is that it works very good. It's actually hard to get a fingernail between the door and the case!

I guess the ideal would be a kind of groove where the door meets the case. That way I could easily remove the door. But that would mean filing away the anodizing and leaving a blank spot. I guess I could paint it black though, might look ok.

Or I glue a kind of "rail" or something to the lid. Something like a 1mm line of glue or something. Just enough to pull off the lid.

Any other ideas? Suggestions? Should I just stop cutting my fingernails?
