:D hehehehehehehe :D

Sorry all... I actually may have bought out what they had left.. I kinda played the, 'one less until it lets me' game.

Actually, there were a few colors left after you posted. I bought 3 last week and USPS put it out to limbo for a few days. It looks like it started to move again yesterday so hopefully I should get my order tomorrow or Friday. Elev8 shipped out the next day (26th) so they ship very fast.

I've noticed that the boxes usually come up around 6p-7p but sometimes (rarely) show up in the morning or afternoons. I got an e-mail to review the item so I checked the site and that's how I found them in stock.

Seriously... I'll review what I get... how bad of shape they are in and possibly post them in the classies... PM me if you think you missed out due to my greed and I'll do my best. I'm not looking to make a dime, so no rip-offs. Heck... I'll more than likely throw in a few feet/meters of Rayon as well just cause I need to get rid of some (and to spread the word) ;)

EDIT: I just figured at $5 I could make a bunch of 300+W modds!

Do the elev8 boxes come stripped? or are all the components still there?

No, they come to you as they were returned to Elev8. They may have burnt chips or bad wiring but if you read the reviews, some are still working but have issues (display is dead for example). It's a crap shoot but if you want a box to mod and add a dna 30 or 40, they're perfect. Or you can order a few and roll the dice and hope for at least one that works.

My boxes, ordered from elev8 on the 25th, just appeared in BETHPAGE, NY 11714. Maybe they will get here eventually. Did everyone else's also end up there? Or did they take tours to different towns.
Looking forward to modifying them. I figure one bottom feeder and one with a vamo chip. Probably a DNA40 when Mike Petro sets up another coop next year. Should be fun.
I understand they come with switches, sled, 510, usb charger, dead board/screen, and lots of hot glue.

I ordered on the 25th too and it showed up in Brooklyn on the 26th and stayed there until the 3rd (12:28am) when it showed up in Bethpage, then to my local hub (Kearny, NJ) and left 12:53pm supposedly to my local PO. So hopefully tomorrow.

Tip on the hot glue: Use Isopropyl alcohol to remove it. I just cleaned up my FC clone and removed all the internals easily with isopropyl alcohol and a q-tip.

Seems pretty weird we all ordered enclosures on the same day last week and they disappeared for several days then all reappeared at the same time.

Someone severely screwed that shipping up.(still think it has something to do with the shipping label being printed AFTER the package was already picked up by USPS).

I think it was an issue with the USPS and not Elev8.

I ordered two on Saturday and received them in NJ today. The black one looks brand new. The blue one is obviously used but far from ugly.

Strange thing is I just popped a VTC3 in the blue box. It powered right up and seems to be working fine with my Erlkonigin clone. Seems to charge fine too. I'll probably just use it until it doesn't work or I run into the same issue the original purchaser had. I'll throw an RDA on tomorrow and check it at higher power. I'll also throw a batt in the black box and see what happens.

Weird that it appears to be working fine. This is my first regulated mod capable of firing sub-ohm. My VTR doesn't count. :) Until I decide on final builds, it's not a bad RTA box for $5. I'll see if the black box fires up over the next couple of days...

I stay away from that kind of thing just incase the chip needs to be removed in the future

Not sure if this has been talked about yet, but can you seal your chip with epoxy to make it waterproof? Is that recommended? Or will it just create more problems than it solves?

It's all in there and LOTS of hot glue. Isopropyl alcohol is the key to getting all that hot glue out. Just thought I would let you all know. Until I discovered that I didn't think I would ever get it all out. The couple I bought were in good shape. Couple of minor scratches. I've heard that some folks have gotten them that were in stealth mode and worked fine when switched outta stealth. Lesson learned: put a battery in and try it first!
