Ordered the new Evolv chip this morning (dual C/F readout) but I decided to get the stock screen instead of the "Big" one so that I won't need to dremel out the stock screen slot in the front. Even if I managed to do it nice, the anodizing would be removed on the window and I guess it would look crappy. Rather live with the stock screen.

My fasttech order is nowhere to be found (it has been a month since I ordered it). This has never happen before so I'm getting the feeling its lost somewhere. I wonder if I should open a ticket with Fasttech now or wait a few more days.

Regards
Tony

Mamu has a bezel for the big screen. I was about to order a DNA 40 but now I'm not sure if I want to deal with the big screen or not. I kinda do want the big screen since I'm not getting any younger and my vision isn't what it used to be. I do that "old man looking at shtuff at arm's length" thing now

My FT order was broken up into 3 packages  The mini left Singapore Post on the 16th enroute to USPS and the states. Weird thing is, my atomizer stands left on the 15th and arrived in San Franscisco, CA on the 17th.

They just listed the Cloupor Mini for sale this morning ($36). I might have to order one of those.

Yeah but the bezel doesn't look sleek to me. Kinda retro look. I rather work with the smaller screen, a piece of plexi glass and be done with it. Time will tell.

My eyes aren't what they used to be but I can still read small stuff on my phone so it should be ok for the dna screen... I hope! :)

What still buggs me a little is that I'll probably get the chip much sooner than the box so I have no way to test it if it works or not for some time unless I wire the chip on the table which sounds a little meh!? :)

Yeah, I'm not too crazy about the bezel but it makes it look cleaner than just cutting out the display hole and you don't have to be as exact with the bezel. The regular screen is pretty small and not as bright as the DNA30 (dims after 7 secs). I wear contacts and in the last few years my near vision got worse. I bought some reading glasses but I found that w/o my contacts, my near vision is excellent.

I would test the chip before soldering anything on it. Just power and use the buttons on the board to check functions.

I'm sure your Mini will be delivered soon. It has an internal battery so that's what's holding it up but it shouldn't be much longer. I'll be happy if I get mine by mid-Jan.

I really hope you're right although, in 12 years, It NEVER took so long for a package to at least enter the country coming from China, Singapore, HongKong, Tailand or Malasya (Didn't order from anywhere else on that part of the world).

I was thinking in only soldering the input (battery) and output (to the 510 connector) and test it.

From everything I've heard, items with internal batteries take 1-2 weeks longer so 3-4 weeks total although I've heard isolated cases where it took more than 2 months. I think it'll be worth the wait.

I just ordered a Cloupor Mini from FT. Now it's a race to see which one gets here first :D.

Seriously. No more mods. No, really.

You guys just make me want to pull my hair out :(

My package is lost and forgotten... I have no idea when I will get my mini mod... If ever.

I'll already checked if I could source it out somewhere else but no dice on this side of the world.

It's going to be a boring Christmas, that's for sure...

I just got mine. It has a AW 18490 battery (not sure if it's authentic) instead of lipo. The chipset seems to be an older version and doesn't fire from sleep. It shows "Evolv DNA" for 1 sec before firing. All other functions work as it should (stealth, left/right, wattage lock, power lock)

I was pretty shocked how small the package was when I picked it up from the mailbox and then opening it. If you think the rDNA is small, check out the VS DNA30. Now that is a small mod. About the size of an Istick but much, much better built.

I got the 30w version from FT. I figured the extra $10 for the 50w version wasn't worth it since I was planning on replacing it with a DNA40. Since it already has a battery sled, I was thinking of getting a few Turnigy 1200mah lipo batteries from Hobby King. $3 but shipping is $7 so I should order a few.
