A quick update on the blank 510, 2.4Ω cartos from AZ Smoke Free. They are nice, folks. Number 1 died after about 12 hours, but did some solid work prior to its premature demise. Numbers 2 and 3 are doing very well, I'm happy to report. They are actually reminiscent of the early Truemans we all loved so much; nice warm vapor, and plenty of it; clean taste; loose, porous filler; fast wicking; very good draw. The manufacturer is Tuofan (?)

A disclaimer: this is just this batch. We know what can happen with cartos, we've seen it happen over and over again. One batch is great, then things go south fast. In the spirit of full disclosure, I ordered 4 more boxes and I'm hoping they will be as good as my first one. There are only few boxes left on the site. What happens after they reorder is anybody's guess.

If anybody has any previous experience with this vendor, please share it with us.

Hi - I have been buying cartomizers from azsmokefree for about 6 months now - 510 and rn4081's - actually I have more experience with the rn4081's because I keep trying out different 510's. But his 510 and rn4081 are basically the same - same manufacture and same ugly faux filter paper on them (which peals off easily BTW)

I have not found any cartomizers I like better - I keep hoping because they are not great - just good. I have not tried the e2's yet - but have tried most others. and will try the e2's when Clouds of Vapor gets a new stock.

The owner is a nice older man; who tries to keep in stock but since he seems to have had a small clientele - may get behind if a lot of people order. Very honest and tries hard to please. Months ago I ordered a 510 battery from him. I thought I ordered a manual but got an automatic. I looked at my emailed order and saw it said automatic. I looked back online and though the description clearly said automatic the pic was of a manual. I emailed him about the error on his (very bad) website - and said I would keep the automatic and acknowledged it was my fault since I should have read the description. He sent me a manual battery free of charge without asking for the automatic back.

I don't really know much else to say. They are basic old fashion cartomizers at a cheap price. I have hopes that soon someone will invent something better. I am not impressed at all with the new ego cartomizers - the first (and only) one I tried the vaping fell off greatly after one day - and the next day shorted out taking my ego passthrough with it.
I have hopes for the e2's - but the reviews have been all over the place.

Kushka, thank you so much for the information. We discovered AZ Smoke Free because of you--I read your post in another thread. This is very helpul, indeed.

Yeah, I agree with you that they are not the greatest. I'm 2 for 4 out of my first box of 510s. The first one died unexpectedly, the other two were good, the 4th one just burned after 10 minutes of use. This is so frustrating.

If you're looking for 4081 cartos, I can recommend Good Prophets. Rob sells prefilled and blanks and they are almost as solid as SmokeStik cartomizers for half the price. I never had one burn or die on me yet and they can be refilled over and over.

The best 510s are still the Boge (silver thread, 3.0Ω, vertical coil). Some swear by the SLB 510s--3.0Ω and a horizontal coil, like the SmokeStik cartos. LiteCig has the best prices.

My experience with eGo cartomizers and with the Genuine Joyetech cartomizers has been a mixed bag also. They taste great, but are a PITA to refill and they don't last any longer than a few refills. And many have all kinds of QC problems.

Again, thanks for sharing your knowledge with us.

I'm waiting for that email from Bruce, too. :p

Really? The Genuine Joyetech cartomizers (not the eGo's)? I've had 15 - 20 of them in rotation for a while now and they're all flawless. and refilled maybe 6 times so far. The eGo's have been good too except they forgot to glue them onto the base...

So I couldn't help myself. I did an autopsy of the two AZSF cartos I had been vaping for a couple of days. One was getting really tired and funky (burnt) tasting, the other one was quite fresh. I took the filler out, rinsed it clean and examined the remains. Pristine white filler, clean diaper with a slight brown mark (the size of a pinhead), vertical coil, bass-colored threads. And that reminded me of something I had seen before.... Bingo!

It's all yours, Nicnac!

Thank you, WitchWay, wherever you are.
I received my AZ 510 cartos yesterday at noon. Been vaping my first one since then. 2 Pm right now (I did rinse it with hot water last night). i am a happy camper again.
"A little Filler". How do you say that in Chinese?

Witchway did surface on this forum a week or so ago. do you keep in touch with her? Hope she is ok.

Has anyone checked out this thread? http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...w-long-do-cartomizers-last-2.html#post2062369

I'm amazed at how long people say their cartos are lasting. Do yours last this long? Mine never have.

A quick upate on the E2 cartos I'm using now which are version 3.75 or so. Out of this 5 pack 4 have died within the month. So they aren't lasting as long as the E2s I had before which lasted a good week or so per carto.

Well, I suppose mine COULD last that long if I enjoyed vaping a crummy, burnt up, coated with burned juice crud carto.

I get about 5-6 ml through a good one, then out it goes. Even if I don't burn it, there is burned juice crud in it (yes, I autopsy every single one just to double check my taste buds). A sub par carto, i.e., standard Kanger, maybe 2-3 ml.

I had a SLB 510 last 24 days but that was an anomaly. I can't imagine one lasting weeks or months. Mine almostt always die in a matter of days. What am I missing here?

You mean literally die? That I do not know. I don't think I've ever had more than 2 or 3 die.

Yup, yup. Even if you could, doesn't mean that you should. Crud is nasty.

They are disposable for a reason, folks.

I'm like Neo, I rip every single one apart after 5-6 ml have been through it and it ain't pretty. No way am I going to inhale the smoke from fried, caramelized juice residue. Yuck. There's nothing like a fresh carto, and I'm just too lazy to wash and dry.

Almost everyone I've used just stopped working within a matter of days - didn't matter what kind.

I'm really alarmed to hear some of these vapers -some relatively new - using these cartos for such a long period of time. I don't think it's safe at all.
